Artist Bio

Primarily a self-taught artist, Sabrina travelled from Jamaica to Trinidad in September 1996, to pursue a degree in Engineering at U.W.I. St. Augustine.

Building upon the foundational training received during her high school education, and one year at the Edna Manley School for the Visual Arts in Kingston in 1994, Sabrina has crafted her own style since she began experimenting with acrylics in 1999. Her brightly coloured abstract pieces are created using acrylics and chalk pastels, featuring themes inspired mostly by personal experiences. The variety of themes and bold colours reflect the way Sabrina embraces new experiences and aspects of life. "...I sincerely believe that each of us must explore and develop our God-given talents and gifts, and use them in order to fulfil our purpose in life. That is not just a cliché - I have never studied art professionally, but I know that there is a reason why God gave me creative and artistic abilities. I am particularly determined to open people's minds towards abstract art and the stereotypes of artists as being 'weird' or 'eccentric.' An artist, even an abstract artist, can be a perfectly normal human being, with a perfectly sane mind."
