My name is Sabina Surya Naya.
It's an honor for me to have you visit my studio today!
I was born on April 19th, 1968; I am 40 years old.
After 2 years in art school I decided to switch to religion, law, journalism and psychology keeping art as a hobby.
I am a “schooloholic”.
Currently I am a full time Counseling Psychology graduate student and I am painting full time.
I don't see myself doing anything else; painting is my life and is the only thing that makes me happy.
I love experimenting new techniques, and I am the originator of a mixed media technique that I am using in most of my paintings.
This technique is characterized by thickness of the media and often irregularities and cracks.
After I finish adding the media to the canvas or wood I use several layers of colors in order to reveal an unique appearance of my art work.
I want to produce an unique art suitable to unique personalities and tastes and to touch even the most untouchable souls.
Although I returned full time to art after a long absence I always worked on elaborating projects of new techniques and perspectives on painting.
Right now I am working on a series of solid wood paintings in oil and/or acrylic that will bring an unique look to your space.
All this work will be available for purchase by the end of this year.
I am an emerging artist and I am painting my emotions, my happiness, my joy, my sadness, my worries, my wishes, my regrets, my daily remarkable feelings and experiences.
The process of my art is a complex process, I am trying to depict the essence of who I am and how I feel.
I am not randomizing colors on a canvas; each feeling has a color, every emotion has a depth.
Every painting is a page of my life transposed in a "painted diary".
