Hey check out my thread in the "FORUMS" under the "ART DISCUSSION" section about GRAFFITI ART!!! Please add your comments or questions.

Raul "Frame" Gamboa I'm a native Los Angelino and have lived in the area all my life.

My family is from Merida, Yucatan, Mexico and I am the oldest of 4 and the only artist in my family. I am the Father of 2 beautiful kids which I am thankful for everyday!

I am a GRAFFITI WRITER and I've been drawing graffiti and creating graffiti since 1983 and some consider me one of several "Old School" graffiti writers which strongly influenced the graffiti scene in Los Angeles during the 1980's and 1990's.

My Graffiti name is "Frame or Frame One" and I belong to several graffiti crews both in Los Angeles and New York. I consider myself a Graffiti Writer more than a Graffiti Artist.

I've done many commercial jobs and private works of art. My first Graffiti job was painting gang graffiti for the movie "Colors" which was released back in 1988. I've since worked in many different industries. My work has been either featured or used for in many other films both major and student, commercials, music videos, TV shows, magazines, books, video games, and applied on clothing.

I've created, designed, and/or enhanced logos for small companies as well as art directed on several projects.

I've done mural projects for many types of businesses and clients wanting to "jazz up" their work place or home. I've even had the pleasure and blessed to do murals for the largest Christian Church in the Atlanta GA area.

I'm a traditionalist when it comes to this type of graffiti. I believe it needs to be expressed out in the streets where it was born and created. Graffiti can tell volumes of stories both personal and what's happening with current affairs.

I've painted more "pieces" out in the streets than on canvases or premission walls for mural projects.

I've painted about 70 canvas pieces in my time and fortunately all have sold and belong to personal collectors thought the USA. My artwork has been bought be Film and Art Directors, Soft Drink companies for their corporate offices, huge Law firms, Entertainers, Galleries, and by many other artists.

I've also been asked to give presentations at High Schools, Junior Colleges and Universities which some have included slides shows, live demonstrations, conducted workshops, and given oral history lessons of the Graffiti Art form.

I also coordinate the largest Graffiti Art event on the West Coast called the West Coast Graffiti Party.

I've traveled around the USA to paint with other local graffiti artist and for graffiti related work.

I also LOVE to photograph graffiti, people, and of things which capture my eye.

I've also have had the pleasures of meeting people from many walks of life. From politicians to film stars, music artists to CEO's of big companies, famous and not so famous people and artists.

My plan is to continue working as hard as I can to help others understand this cultural and artistic phenomenon.
