BIOGRAPHY: I am an spanish self-taught oil painter born in Almería (Spain) in 1962.

Since childhood I dreamed of being an artist, after in 1st grade I had an art teacher that sparked my interest in being artist. So, I have been painting from as for back as I can remember, but I began to take my art seriously when I realized, many years ago, that for me art is life, an outlet for me to express myself, a way to live, share and express.

I finished my study at the University of Madrid in 1985. After I moved to Almería, where I live today in front of the Meditarranean sea.

Nowadays my excitement and love for painting is renewed every day due to everpressent element of emotión and pleasure every painting session.

I work with oil on canvas and enjoy creating. My figurative style includes mainly seascapes and lansdcapes inspeired by the light, air and sea of my region because I love nature and hence, it has been the source of my inspiration.

I paint daily -sometimes Plein Air- in a realistic or impressionistic style trying to transform a blank canvas into an artwork and using the colour in an interpretive way to represent my feelings with positive and vibrant energy. Colour is the essence of my artsworks -signed as Maeso- and reveals my personality, passion and emotion associated with the Andalousian temperament.

I like to paint quickly and expressively so as to give the impression of a captured moment.

EXHIBITIONS: I have several gallery exhibitions behind me. I have shown my artworks in solo and group exhibitions and I have sold paintings to collectors as far away as Jordany and many others throughout Spain and United Kingdom.
