I live in the South-West of England,UK, and have been painting for over 40 years; beginning as a teenager with oil paints and attending a local art group based in the Mendip hills of Somerset, UK. All my efforts at that time concentrated on local landscape and getting to grips with oils.

Today I work between floral, still life and landscape subjects, and alternate between oils and soft pastels to maintain variety and interest; occasionally producing some acrylic work as well. I have a special interest in making small paintings (generally under 20 inches).

Exhibitions: Many on a local/home basis, but not solo or national; mainly in groups. Awards: Local group awards; first given Best in Show certificates in 2001, then 2003 and 2004 (two landscapes, one still life, all pastel paintings); other local group show merit awards have been given at various times during the years up to 2016. I have had some works shown via LightSpaceTime.com monthly competitions.

2019 was very busy and provided a little less time for painting; but I continued to work on personal oil-painting ideas and to explore the potential of pastel and pencil together. Smaller paintings remain my main focus. I have paintings at my own website, also original-art-under100.com. 2020: A ghastly year. Unable to physically visit many places so am reliant on photos for landscape work. Still life, flowers have taken more of a back seat; but I have spent lockdown experimenting with different media including a return to pencil and ink drawing; creating a small run of mini-abstracts in oils and acrylics; and improving my drawing of buildings, focusing on ones local to me.
