I attended linguistic studies. While I was teaching, I soon discovered a strong liking for art and creation. I travelled quite extensively, in parts of the world such as South East Asia (Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Java, Bali) and also in India, China, Russia, Morocco and Europe, just to mention a few. Meeting the natives is what I prefer: this photographic approach led me toward photo documentaries where faces and emotions, rituals and cultures, and architecture and sceneries blend into one another. Gradually I wanted to picture my own perception of the world and I also sensed the urge to break away from the two-dimensional vision of photography. That’s why I started approaching photography in a three-dimensional way, using relief, cut out and transparency. The female body is my favourite means of communication and three-dimensional photography the privileged way to express my feelings and emotions. I also use installations extensively. I won the second prize in a photography contest organised by a prominent Belgian newspaper Le Soir in 1999 with ‘Portal’. In 2005, I was awarded another prize with ‘A thousand and one ways of putting an end to one's life (or to that of others) (Nr1)’ on the theme of «Impertinence - Arrogance» as organised by the House of the Laity in La Louvière (Belgium) This time, the subject used was not the female body but objects diverted from their usual use. My liking is not limited to photography, since I'm also interested in Music and Writing. I live in Southern Belgium a few miles from Brussels in a very green scenery.
