Biography

Mushtaq Noor opened his eye in a small agriculturist family of Punjab province of Pakistan. He was only three when his father died. Under very crucial circumstances, howevere, he strived and succeeded in achieving his Engineering degree with Distinctions.

He preferred settingup his own business instead of Public Service. He was very successful in his business related endeavors. As of a business venture, during 90s, he firstly shifted his business to Tashkant and then to Central Russia in quest of still better outcomes......! But misfortunes come uninvited.......he was rendered penniless due to Bank-ruptcy at The Bank of Russia where he was maintaining all his business accounts. He can not forget the day of 13th September 1997, when starving for over three days, dejected a lot, he went drowsy, someone asked him; Why not start poetry and painting (what he never thought in life) to kill time?

His art is nothing but ravings presented as visualized. The topic of the art is Heart & Soul. He never attended any school of art. It was only at the 57th year of his life that his innate power, expression through brush, developed on deep study of philosophy of Khudi (high-born creation of man) by Dr. Muhammad Iqbal (1877-1938), Poet of The East. His drowsing led him to many forms of matter undergoing alchemy through life, as the soul does, that could be utilized as allegoristic instances to place the results of such occurrences on canvas, for easy leap of minds to reach closest to the meanings thus expressed visually.

He says, "All praise and graciousness goes God Almighty who sends each soul labeling a unique level of intellect, blessing it with certain attributes and virtues, to play the role (assigned) through its life in this world. He Himself unveils these attributes at a stage He deems fit, purely as a pre-set/hidden agenda." He is of the firm belief that there is no wonder, skill or role, whatsoever, at the hands of the Artist to be praised.

Artist's Statement

My art is all Ravings and Revelations presented as visualized. The topic of the art is HEART AND SOUL. I never attended any school of art. At 57 my innate power, to conceive and express through brush, was so developed on deep study of philosophy of KHUDI (high-born creation of man) by Dr. Muhammad Iqbal (1877-1938), Poet of The East.

My drowsing led me to many forms of matter undergoing alchemy through life, as the soul does, that could be utilized as allegoristic instances to place such occurrences on canvas, for easy leap of minds to reach conceive. A great creative artist is the one who is able to tell people, what he felt? Since all my art is backed up with strong philosophical themes I will never be painting "Untitled". In my Artwork the language is strong a bit loud and lengthy too.

My experiences, thirsts, complexes, yearnings, pains and uproars all attain their peak before they could move an enriching meaningful discovery. Truly speaking, my starvations opening me the new windows of expression were real blessings. The virtual treasures vested in me remain at a push for outflow asking me go on painting restlessly. It was this pushing that resulted in the first fifty big portraits (website: http://www.ravingsart.com) were accomplished in a record time...a hundred days. There is someone sitting inside telling me; the time is short and task...a great deal! I am under a continuous stress to double-up in transferring these ideas to canvas which yet remain unfolded, short of arrangements.

There is no literal interpretation of thoughts, rather pleasure of medium and process of painting transform my palette into an image. Starting a painting is ever an upsetting rush as I throw paint, canvas coming under hard and stiff brush strokes, instead of applying it as planned. This spoils the canvas first causing great bitterness, but sitting a few yards away the same lands me in the valleys and knolls I had envisaged or even better. Doing so I see images change, conflicts resolve, emotions settle, bitterness turn sweet. It has been a discovery, a transformation like alchemy. The play of textures, chemistry of different materials and, in furtherance, such a great acceptance my art, in a very short time, have provided me an exciting challenge, a fascination to discover surface from surface. It's really an intriguing new journey.

Though, like many others, I have been riding canvas to arrive at an object having a start from a subject and later many a times it has in itself turned the otherway round....imparting from an object and arriving at subject and in most of my artistic endeavors its me, myself the subject. In other words painting as a gesture has utterly led me to explore myself and provides me the basis for reaching Truth in itself!

Since this all is a translation of philosophy of a great scholar it keeps ocean depth meanings. More in depth you dive, more the pearls falling to your lap. One has to spare a little more of time and attention to benefit from these presents. One will, however, himself feel thirst for a second trip finishing a trip to this "Safari" of "Heart and Soul".
