Artist Statement:

In the works I create, I seek to establish a vanishing point, which is both a point of perspective for the work and yet is also a point of refuge for my psyche. From this point I can escape from the weight of a chaotic world riddled with similes and metaphors, which do not connect with the world of facts.

My paintings state a loss of dogma in the plight of the individual seeking to establish an identity in a world of individual disintegration. I use the name Miguel Glenn to sign the front side of my work, in tribute to the time of my adolescence when I discovered my understanding to be different than that of the traditional society. From that time I have sought understanding of my individuality and the place of the individual in working through the gulfs between facts and beliefs, expectations and what is really there.
