In the garden, All is right with the world. The magnificence of creation is displayed through relationships. Light, shadow, differences in texture add to the character of the individual in nature and in life. Painting from the garden is timeless. Some blossoms last only moments, but on canvas they last forever.
I see a garden as a wonderful playground where the boundaries of reality and imagination blend. Trees form a great cathedral and light streaming through the canopy of leaves rivals stained glass. The plants have personalities and green warriors carry pansy petal shields. This lost valley, in all its timelessness, is my sanctuary.
The present is built upon layers of the past. The images show the physical here and now but evoke a contemplation of the spiritual and the infinite.
