2005 Calendar Update

We want to thank all of the artists that have participated in the ArtWanted.com 2005 Day Calendar. It has been a fun project and the artwork of our artists continues to amaze us.

We are very excited about the calendar, but it's had its share of problems getting completed. It was difficult to find a printer for this job that was willing to print, cut and collate 365 pages for a short run calendar. We finally did find a printer, followed their design guidelines and once we gave it to them, one of their managers went back on their word and refused the job, saying we needed to order at least 25,000 calendars to make it worth their time.

After this we had to scramble to find a new printer that would take on the job, which took even more time. Then we had to redesign the entire calendar to their printing specifications. Not only this, but it's costing us about the same amount of money to print them, as we are selling them for, because of the small number this is being printed. We decided to go ahead with the project anyway, so that those that wanted a page in the calendar can still receive it.

Because of these issues, the calendar is not yet completed and will not be ready for Christmas as expected. We deeply apologize for this for all of you that ordered calendars for Christmas gifts. If you ordered additional calendars for Christmas, and would like a refund, please let us know and we will have no problem refunding your money. If you can wait a little bit longer, then we appreciate it. If we end up doing a calendar next year, we will start much earlier and firm up arrangements with printers' way ahead of time.

Ending on a positive note, the calendars do look great and we are excited to have them sitting on our desks all year round. The printer has told us that they are rushing the job to get it done for us and they are expected to get to us within a week. Once we receive them, they will be mailed out within a day so that we can get them to you ASAP.

Every company has delays in the rollout of new things at sometime. Many times, there are constant delays and setbacks within a company.

ArtWanted.com is no different and the calendar delays are due to things out of our control. It's far from fraud, it's simply an item that was delayed in production.

As we have already stated, we will be happy to refund anyone's money for the calendar due to the delay, we have no problem with that. You just need to ask for it.

There is no reason to get upset at us. We would have loved to have the calendar here a week ago, but as mentioned above, the printers went back on their word and it caused a huge delay on the calendars. We hope to have them out to everyone very soon.

I fully agree - we all should have been informed early last month if there was going to be such delays with the AW calendar. It is now the New Year 2005 and with each day the calendar is "late" is one less day of art... I still have not received my calendar... :(

Just wondering, AW you said that in a week of me asking about who managed to get into the calendar and who got extra images would be posted on the calendar page. I havent seen it yet, have you posted anything about that?

Id very much like to know if my chance to get a extra image got used.

Hello, It is now Feb. 1, 2005. At the being of Jan you said the would be here soon!!!! So when now... THis is very very much getting to be a problem.... I what respondse to this problem to day......
