ArtWanted.com Book Update #5

We have had a few requests for another update on the ArtWanted.com Creative Minds portfolio book. We thought that we had covered all of the issues in the last update, but I guess people are wanting more, so here you go...

1) LOVE IT!
First off, everyone that has seen the book has been very impressed with it. Our printer couldn't stop talking about it and has shown it off to many clients already. They printed dozens of extra copies, so they can have them in their waiting room and to show to new clients of the type of books they can produce. Even the binder wanted some copies from us to show to their clients. We love the book too, but it's great to hear it from people outside of ArtWanted.com.

2) BOOK SHIPPING
Most of the books have been shipped out that were preordered. There is still a small handful of books that will be shipped out tomorrow, but by then, everything should be out in the mail. We have shipped out all pre-ordered books in the US via Priority mail at no additional cost. To do this, it cost us about $2-4 more per book to ship them, but we have decided to simply eat this cost to get the book to you faster. We don't know the delivery dates for International orders, but most all US orders should make it there before Christmas.

3) BOOK DELAY
We do want to apologize for not getting the book out as fast as we wanted. There were several delays throughout the entire process that lead up to this. The biggest issues were waiting for updated/corrected images from many artists and the fact the book was 100 pages bigger than originally expected. If we do end up printing another book, we will allow additional time for these type of issues, so that it can be delivered when expected. Thanks for your patience, we hope it will be worth it for you.

4) BOOK SURVEY
Within the next few weeks, we plan to e-mail out a survey to those that have purchased the book to gather some valuable feedback. This information will help us in the event a 2nd book is published. We have learned many things on this first publication and your feedback will help us create an even better book in the future.

5) BOOK DISTRIBUTION
Once the holidays have ended and things slow down, we will be announcing the book through additional channels and through news wires. We plan to mail many free copies to art directors, gallery owners and art buyers to get the word out about the book and the artists found on it's pages. We will also be setting up a referral program, reseller program and be placing the book on popular book websites for purchase. The more books we sell, the more money we will have to promote the book further. We will update our members on these distribution channels as they are solidified.

6) SUPPORT THE BOOK
The last thing we wanted to mention in this post is a call for your support for the book. In order for us to even think of a 2nd book, we need this one to be a success. This will only come from positive support from the artists on our site and lots of book sales. We realize that most of the artists on this site are not in the book, but we hope that you will tell others about it anyway and purchase a copy if you can. If the book is successful, then we can create additional publications to feature more of the great talent on our site.

7) THANKS!
We do want to express our thanks to the efforts of the book committee, our staff and all of the artists that took a 'leap of faith' to be in the book. As our first publication, we do not know what the long term outcome of the book will be, but we hope that those that are featured in the book will be happy with the results. An ArtWanted.com book has been the request of many artists since we started our website almost 6 years ago. It's great to hold the book in our hands and see how great it turned out. Thanks again!
