Art Dual Hack

Someone has apparently Hacked the art dual and gave me Gazillion losses. 100's of images. Why would someone do such a thing? My win percentage has gone down at least 10% + Damn shame people have to be this way :( Has this Happened to anyone else?

Same to me……I removed myself from Art Duel. It’s pretty sad when you have a beautiful image and the other party has submitted an out of focus snap shot from the 1960’s and some ignorant person selects the snapshot…….discouraging as well as continuing duplicates

This happens to me, too, quite often!

I just removed myself from the art dual as well Scott, I keep getting loss after loss after loss... to some really bad awful work. I won't play the game anymore. I realize art is subjective, but it has reached a level where I think it is being purposely done.

I agree totally……

Thank you for your feedback on the Art Duel feature of ArtWanted. Since this feature was created, we have had over 2 million votes on our members images! This means over 2 million more views on the artwork of our members, which brings more artist exposure that every member can appreciate. According to our website analytics, this is one of the top 3 most popular pages of ArtWanted and people spend more time on the Art Duel than any other page on the website by far.

This being said, we also know that it’s not a perfect system and improvements can always be made. We want those members that have left the Art Duel system to have a reason to return. We want to address some of the comments that have been made and ask for your suggestions on how this feature can be improved.

1. HIGH PERCENT OF LOSSES – We have monitored and checked our system for any way to “hack” the system to vote negatively for a specific person. We have seen no data to back-up this theory. We have developed algorithms to choose each random duel and the name of the artist is not known to the voter until after the vote is cast. Wins and losses will come to all members. If you get over 50% wins, then your artwork is preferred with the majority of voters.

2. DUPLICATE ART – We do not currently exclude duplicate images from showing up in multiple duels. The same piece of art may show up for different categorie/duels and will almost always be shown next to a different piece to duel on. Would you prefer to never see the same artwork twice?

3. BAD ARTWORK – Art is subjective. We don’t have any data to indicate if a members artwork is “good” or “bad”, so there isn’t a way to only pick “good” artwork from showing in a duel. We simply pick random art that has been uploaded by all our members over the last 25 years. Some members are very talented and others are still improving their skills.

4. INCORRECT MATCHING – One challenge with the Art Duel is that if a member categorizes their artwork in the wrong category or incorrect keywords, the duel will not be properly matched. We have to assume that the artist has categorized their art correctly, but this is not always the case. This will create duels with two images that have nothing in common. We are working on a way to report this to us, so we can made adjustments to the artwork shown.

Now it is your time to share your feedback and suggestions on how you might improve the Art Duel system for all members. We look forward to your comments.

Don’t know what other suggestions to make. I have experienced myself when on that site the same image popping up twice in a row many times. Also, with all the “Additional exposure” no increase has been seen in sales. I will just refrain from using it anymore because it is of no advantage to me. Thank you for your response

I don't think mine was as much as yours but I did notice a slight ticket downward that I thought was strange since before that was doing so well. I'm still monitoring it I guess but thanks for the heads up
