For years I have lamented dark feelings that are evoked from images depicting human skeleton. I am drawn to this subject matter. This is a collage of individual illustrations I've done.

This painting was done in honor of the 2017 total solar eclipse. I was fortunate to be on the path of totality and struck with awe at the experience. Acrylic on canvas, 12 x 36.

“Topaz” is the birthstone for November, and is part of my Broken Doll Birthstone series. This mysterious doll sits with her majestic Eagle Owl. Golden Topaz hues surround her and shimmer in the owl's eyes, the gemstones and flowers on her dress and in the mystifying background. . Is she all doll? or all human? That is for you to decide. Created with graphite drawing pencils, watercolor and gel pens.

"Ephesians 6:12", oil on canvas, 36" x 48". This work, a self-portrait, and introspection of the artist was conceived during a dark period of my life. I employed a biblical title to interpret an artist's personal challenges, our compulsion to create art, the struggle between good and evil, and the scrutiny we submit ourselves by illustrating our dreams and fears in an unforgiving stage.

We reluctantly invite the viewer to our personal darkness and ask them to join the critic and pass judgment, as well, we also implore that you recognize the joy that is art, the accompanying obsession and our humanity within the brush marks.
