What new group features would you like to see?

Why dont you offer a Artist Portfolio Book printing for the artists... we could create our own portfolios through your printing press.

just a thought. Other companies are out there doing this already of course. Just thought to keep it 'in house'.

I agree with Paula, group challenges/competitions would be a great addition to the site. Perhaps all group hosts could have the option of holding a challenge, and the themes could be set by either group hosts or group members. I see challenges working best by having a standard set of rules that would apply to all challenges (ie, no soliciting for votes, one image per person, can't vote on own image, one submission per person, etc.) and then the group hosts could specify the finer details on the challenge page. Group hosts could have control over length of time for submissions/length of time for voting. Members could then vote on as many images as they like in each challenge and the top five winners could be featured on the group homepage, and maybe the overall winner on the ArtWanted homepage? Anyway, just a rough idea of how challenges may work. They would definitely encourage more member activity/artist exposure, and they can be very motivating, rewarding and encouraging for artists who enter. There could be challenges for all levels of artists/photographers so there's something for everyone.

I'd also recommend a weekly (or frequency chosen by group host) featured page in each group. Again, very rewarding to have a work featured, and great to view when browsing through groups. The number of features and who chooses features could be decided by group hosts.

Lastly, all key information could come through the Art Feed, ie: recent comments, ratings, challenge info, (if you hold them) artwork features, AW announcements. This would mean after logging in, members could go straight to the art feed and see the latest key info all on one page. Essentially, the members area and art feed could become one.

I have other ideas, but I think that's enough for now! Thanks for reading, hope there might be something in all this that helps! :-)

How about a way that all of us Artists here at ARTWANTED could save lives. Especially...CHILDREN'S LIVES. Offer a contest that each artist would pay $5. $10.$20 to enter. Just like most all other Art Contests held every day of the year around the planet. The winner(s) in each category ( painting, photography, sculpture,etc) would get a prize ( free membership for a year and five of their artworks printed on canvas) ( or a trip to Hawaii) and be the GRAND PRIZE WINNER on the home page with a featured article. The remainder of the money would go to a Charity for one of the many crisis facing our planet. The Japan Earthquake and Tsunami for instance... or Haiti, or relief from any catastrophic event that is coming to us. As ARTISTS, we could actually make a difference simply by entering these contests every few months. If only 5000 artists entered for $20.oo each = $100,000 for food, medical supplies, water, shelter for those in need. Five contests per year could yield half a million dollars in AID to help those in need. Art Wanted would run this Contest ( please dont let any members take control of something this powerful and ruin it). Create something that is legitimate, that would grow each year and become a global phenomena for your artists to be proud of. Just a thought....
