Google vs Ask.com

Ask.com is becoming a huge player in the search engine industry. They use a different method than Google for finding hits though.

Ask.com searches the internet for links that lead to a site they don't search keywords like google.

So although I show up great on google, I was looking for ideas on how to show up more on ask.com.

I look at other forums, but they all say "no commercial links".

Any suggestions?

Mark -

If you search for "Mark Siciliano" in Google, your ArtWanted.com portfolio will come up on the 1st page of search results.

If you search for "Mark Siciliano" on Ask.com, your ArtWanted.com portfolio comes up at the top of the second page, which is still really good. (Especially considering there are over 57,000 results for Mark Siciliano on Ask.com)

ArtWanted.com works hard to get the portfolios of our members ranked high on most search engines. We are always looking for better ways to improve the search engine placement of our members.

Yes artwanted does a great job with search engines. Ask.com is just different than most engines and since they base hits based on links to that site, and artwanted is doing a nice job.

Kosmix is a nice search page as well, it brings in results and groups them accordingly. Its more a portal kind of site but it has lots of potential.
