New ArtWanted.com Sketch Pad

We are excited to announce the ArtWanted.com Sketch Pad!

This fun drawing tool will let you create colorful online artwork using a variety of brush sizes, opacity levels and color palettes.

Once you have created your masterpiece, you can save your work and it will be posted into our public sketch gallery for everyone to see. There is also a link back to your portfolio from the sketches you create. You are also given a unique URL to point friends and family directly to your sketch.

This is just the first version and additional features and options will be coming in the future. We would like to see 'sketch challenges' and 'sketch contests' to have fun with this new part of our site.

We want all our members to check out the sketch pad and show off your creativity. We really want you to push the sketch pad to it's limits and draw some amazing artwork. We look forward to seeing your artwork in our sketch gallery!

I have a sketch stuck....

DebraAnn Kasimakis 17 May 2007

OK...I saved it, but...

I don't know ...

I guess it won't be saved here.

Laura Smith 17 May 2007

I have to agree with Daisy on this one... although I am quite sure the kids will enjoy it. It was probably a quick hit that didn't take a lot of resources to accomplish. I hope..

Deb seems to be having a good time! You can always hit screen print Deb and save it in photoshop. LOL.

This is the cutest thing on AW.

Patricia McCarty 17 May 2007

I really love you two but I don't agree, the Sketch thing is a great thing because it promotes art and that even on a cude level is very important.

I respect how everyone felt about sher, But I and a lot of others did not know her, I respect it, pleases don't miss understand, but i don't see how her having a board is anymore important than any other idea, I mean no disrespect to her, she was an amasing artis I agree, but we all are.

AW, why is my sketch deleted?

AW Staff: We are not sure why your sketch was removed. It could have been a bug, or our staff deleted it by accident while cleaning up some of the other duplicate sketches. We apologize if this did happen to you. It's the first day we have used this, so there may be a few bugs to work out.

To answer some of your questions, no additional ArtWanted.com resources/developers were used to create the new Sketch Pad. It did not take focus away from the other tasks our core programmers are concentrating on. We have many planned updates that will take place all throughout the year, which are based on our members requests and suggestions.

The 'Sketch Pad' project was done to continue our goals to build a large art community. This is just one more thing that will attract more artists to our site and keep existing artists on the site longer as it builds a larger art community. It's a fun thing to play with if you have some extra time on your hands and it will bring additional hits to your portfolio if you contribute to the sketch gallery.

I think it's a nice idea. The kids can have fun with it and even some of us adults.

Cool stuff!

Kay Crain 17 May 2007

Fun!! And challenging with just a mouse. I enjoyed looking at everyone's little sketches and left one of my own. It will keep me coming back just to check out the sketches!! ;D

Cristina Marsi 17 May 2007

It looks fun, but either i dont know how to use it, or it tends to stuck. After choosing color and line width once i was unable to change it. Also other icons seem not to work. Besides it would be nice if every icon had an explanation about what it is for.

Cynthia Adams 17 May 2007

I like it..gives me something to play with...i'm just a kid at heart. Thanks AW.

michael mackenzie 17 May 2007
