New Home Page Layout

We have just launched our 'slightly re-designed' ArtWanted.com home page. Almost everything is the same, but there are a few things that we want to point out to you.

1) FEATURED IMAGE

We will now be featuring a new piece of artwork on our homepage each day from one of the artists on our site. This artwork will be seen by thousands of ArtWanted.com visitors on the day it is featured. The image/artist is selected from our staff favorites, new talented members, premium member artwork, high ranking images, art watch favorites and anything else we may use to pick the featured artwork of the day. We will try to rotate this image through all of the galleries that we have, to give variety to this spot on our home page. Each day around midnight, the image will change to a new piece of artwork. If your artwork is selected for this spot, we will let you know so that you can have bragging rights to your friends and family.

2) NEWEST IMAGES

We added a little section to the left of the home page that shows the most recently uploaded images to our site. This is in real time, so as soon as you upload an image, hop over to the home page to see it listed there. This will give everyone a tiny bit more exposure as their images are uploaded, but you'll have to watch fast, over 300 images are uploaded every day.

3) BROWSE BY MEDIA

We have added the ability to quickly browse the artwork on our site by the media it was created in. This is just another way for users to quickly get to your artwork from the home page. We have kept the 'browse by subject' on the home page as well, these are very popular links that are clicked on.

4) REMOVAL OF 'INTERACTIVE' GALLERY

Due to the lack of artists in this gallery, and those that really shouldn't have been there in the first place, we have decided to remove the 'interactive' gallery from ArtWanted.com. We have placed these few members with the Graphic Design gallery and renamed it 'Design/Interactive'. We are considering several other changes to our main galleries, but these changes will come later. Please make sure that you update your gallery with the most appropriate category of your artwork.

We made a few other small changes, but those are the bigger ones. Please let us know what you think and if you happen to get any errors due to these changes.
