Just out of curiosity....

Do the people who have 3. 4. 5 hundred images in their portfolio come up more often in "random views"? How does that work?

I keep pulling images down to try and keep the number around 150. I'm wondering if that keeps the random views down, too.

Imo, it stands to reason that the more images one has, the greater the chances are that the images will come up more often in random views. :-)

If the search is done by image, yes. If it's done by artist, no. If it's done by category, maybe.... That's why I asked. It could be done three ways. :)

From my understanding Joan, only if they are Premium members.

Yes Quantity, not quality.

Thanks, RQ. That explains why some of the members feel more is better. I was just curious.

also, I think a random "hit" is counted as a view also.....statisticswise.

My ones Joan I saw in the first month I was in AW, rarely and now not at all. I reduced to 80 pics about. I learned to just don't car, the same thing with that bloody Top Ten, ther are always the same persons there because nobody rates the pic but rates the privileged person. That is just a non sense.

PS. I had 260 pics, but for me its not importent at all. Without ratings I have more comments and more feeling with members, even Anonym-members writs me comments and I never had stupid ones, but never sai never.

The random images the pop up on our site, are 100% random numbers. The computer counts how many images there are in the database for premium members at that second, then picks a number between one and that total number of images. That is the image that is displayed.

Technically, the more images you have on our site, the more chances you have to be a 'random' image. It's like a raffle and you purchased more tickets.

Random images are only picked from premium member accounts on almost all spots where random images appear on our site.

Stats are not recorded if the image only appears as a small thumbnail image(100x100 pixels). However, we do count a 'hit' to your portfolio if the random image is larger than a thumbnail.

Hopefully this clears up any questions on the random images, let us know if you have any more.
