It's a nice thought, but....

You can already set your account up to have all comments emailed to you, Cindy. Allowing people to delete the "nasty" comments leaves an awful lot up to interpretation.

What if you left me a comment "this is very pretty, nice composition and detail but I really feel that it is too light and this takes away from the overall image." That's a constructive and honest critique, but I'm in a bad mood today so "ZAP" it's gone.

Getting the picture? Might as well just turn all comments off.

That's a good point. I didn't think of that. I just wish that there was a way to make this stop without people having to give up any of the features the site has to offer.

It seems as though this would be a very labor intensive job for the AW staff, who already seem to be overloaded with work.

True. I just thought as long as they e-mail them and post them anyway they could just e-mail them first and then post after we reviewed. I will admit I'm not too technology savy though so I'm not really sure how much this would entail,(coming from someone who is amazed at how sound can travel through the air and come out of a radio!) You have a good point - the AW folks are busy enough and they do a great job.

Thanks for the suggestion Cindy and your willingness to improve the site. We consider every suggestion we see to see what impact it would have on the site and our members. This has merit, don't discard it yet.

Myself, I like reading the comments left via e-mail. This is almost a guarantee you have an addy to reply...respond to. Good or bad. That way it's a one on one and no-one else needs to be involved if it becomes a pissy match.
