Sharing

I would like to encourage more sharing, not only of art forms and styles, but of images, paintings or photography, that promote sharing of each others backgrounds, countries, homelands or just plain surroundings.

I think more emphasis on something like this, can serve to build bridges between members, and less wall building and bickering.

I have kicked off my contribution, by starting a series of photos taken in my part of Canada, which I hope will exemplify what I am trying to say.

I will not put them up rapidly, as it was never intended as a way to grab votes, but rather to grab hands to clasp.

I hope some of you agree, as I would love to learn more about your turf.

In such a big and beautiful world, how can we ever grow too old to learn, or too busy to enjoy.

this is a 70+ foot cement sculpture . It is in the sands of the western part of the bonneville salt flats in Utah, along route 80. the supporting structure is said to extend miles deep into the earth. not sure who the artist is. the "leaves" look like various sized balls, each painted differently.

My world is inside the walls of this room during the day and inside the walls of my duplex during the evening. The temperature at Blackall was 44 degrees (hot) today and its like walking around inside an oven with the fan on. There are grasshoppers around and the water is from underground bores and comes out boiling hot. Been here 2 weeks now and actually I love it.

At the intersection at the top of the hill going into Williams Lake sits the wheelchair representing Rick Hansen "Man In Motion" tour around the world for spinal research. This was his home for years.

Eileen is a good example of what some people are doing and it would maybe help if a lot more were.

She has sections called: "Put in Bay", "Clyde, Ohio","West Virginia" and "Scenery, Buildings and Landscapes".

Might just have something to do with how well she gets on with everyone. When our emphases is on giving and sharing of ourselves and who we are, we can not fail in receiving. Then our focus alternates to receive with interest what others want to share with us.

No this is not Sunday school; and I am not Parson Bob, But someone once said about all this peace we crave for: "let it Begin With Me".

Yes Bob, It's a brilliant idea! I'm happy to clasp your hand or any other AW member whenever. I've already started by sneaking in my sheep in the chapel photo.

One of the exciting things about being a member of this site is being able to communicate with people from all over the world. It's lovely to exchange greetings and information about our respective countries. I'm definitely up for the sharing.

Good idea Bob!

Cheers from Rusty

What a wonderful idea there Bob! from the flat lands of the prairies in Manitoba... here's an image of the CN Rail's facing due west... some day I'm gonna capture it when the sun is setting right over those same tracks....
