Stand off

This is a start of i painting... I'm thinking of adding a herd to the back... the sand is just hard to get the feel of to say the least. Also thinking of adding more of a sun light point to it... and making the shadows of the stallions actually standing and fighting... not matching up to there actual selfs. The shadows fighting it out. Just some thoughts. Still need more to this. Your thoughts are always a great help. Thanks for your time. Merideth

great idea about the shadows fighting!! go with it I don't know about the herd in the background bit though

maybe do the shadow thing first and look at the composition again ????

your idea is tops and so far so good go with the sunlight and shadows it is a great concept:))

nice work so far. great job on the environment as well as the horses. a herd might make things over-crowded but go with your instincts. keep creating!

It looks wonderful so far, accept I would add a hair more to the bottom front part of the tan ones leg just a hair it almost looks as though his leg is broken... I think that you should continue with the ideas of additions to the peice...well done! this is just one of my scetches...
