What seems to be the problem, Wendy?

My canvas has warped in our weird weather and it is a commercially prepared canvas - the first time i have not made my own (trying to save time)

I cannot figure out how to 'unwarp' it and it has to be done by Monday

Just frustrated - i have some friends helping me but it just shows sometimes when you don't do something yourself it is a mistake!!!

I think i can fix it though

Hi Wendy, If its one of those flat board canvases you buy, get hold of as many telephone books as you can or anything really heavy and leave them on for the weekend. It might work

Thanks everyone the painting is on canvas on some sort of softwood frame - looks likes pine the + in the centre of the canvas frame has bowed out (convex) and seems to be under a bit of pressure - when I press it in the middle the whole thing goes back into shape - so corner triangles would help if I could do something to the middle as well - water and weights it is and hopefully I can bake it in the sun into it's original shape we had a sudden drop in temp and an increase in humidity after weeks of dry hot weather which may be to blame anyway here goes :)

YAY FIXED IT TOOK OUT THE + PIECE ALTOGETHER AND PUT MASONITE CORNERS ON THE EXTERNAL FRAME - LUCKILY IT BOWED OUTWARDS BIT TRICKY CUTTING IT OUT BUT IT IS FIXED

POST A PICCY LATER WHEN I GET A CHANCE . . . THANKS ALL :) AGAIN

ta muchly everyone

I got to keep the cats away as well as soon as you put anything like a canvas on the floor around here one can guarrantee a cat will want to sit on it!!!
