Interactive Portfolio CDs

We have idea that we want to run by everyone that we are excited about.

We would love to create a multi-media CD-ROM for our artists that would contain an interactive portfolio of your work. These CDs would have animated menus, sound effects, and cool transitions effects as the user looks through your portfolio. Naturally, it would have all of your contact information and links to your website. You will have 100% control over the colors, background and artwork found on the CD.

These CDs have a ton of uses...They could be given to friends, family, potential clients, mailed out for prospective job offers and much more. You could even use it as your business card.

We plan to create the software that would allow you to burn your own CDs at anytime, or you could have us make them for you. You could modify the content on the CD at anytime and burn new CDs when you feel like it.

Normally, it would cost you from $500 - $2,000 for someone to create an interactive portfolio CD-ROM of your artwork. It would also be an additional cost for any changes that you made. However, we think we could get the price down to around $100-200 and you could change it whenever you wanted.

Please give us your feedback on this idea and if you would be interested in getting an interactive CD of your artwork. If we get enough people saying they want this, then we will spend the time and money to develop it. We really think that this could be a powerful marketing piece for your portfolio.

Here are a few answers to the questions/comments above...

* The jewel case could either be a plastic sleeve or a hard case.

* Once you have the AW software, you can create and burn your own CDs at anytime without any additional charges from AW.

* The ArtWanted.com logo will not be a requirement for the CD, but we will probabaly offer a discount if it appears on the CD.

* The CDs would not effect the price of the Premiume Memberships. It would be an upgrade that any member could purchase.

* The process would be very simple, the program will do most of the work. The images will have the option of being watermarked if you are concerned about art theft.

* Yes, Macromedia Director and Flash can create Interactive CDs, but they are expensive to buy this software and then you need to learn how to use it. The AW solution will be simple to create and update.

* Please keep your comments comming and if this is something that you thing you would like to sign-up for when it's available.

Well is looks like it's a go!

We will start the process of programming and setting up a CD vender and all the other fun stuff to get this off the ground. We expect about 1-2 months of development before we will be ready to launch. We will let everyone know the second they are ready.

The cost of this CD Portfolio is just a one time fee, you will not need to pay everytime you update it with new images.

And yes, you can elect to have a link back to your ArtWanted.com portfolio or your personal website for newer images.

The price to buy the CD Portfolio software is used to pay the programmers to develop the software and to make improvements to it for future versions. Programming is not free (actually quite expensive) and we want to offer it to our members at the lowest price possible. We have come up with this low cost solution so that you don't need to spend thousands on a custom CD.
