I guess we are all different, but for me - I like to communicate. If somebody choose an artist or an artwork that I also like, it's nice to say: "Oh, you liked her art too..isn't she a marvelous artist!" etc.

I don't care about 'top tens' or competitions at all.. but I enjoy talking about art and artists.

I know exactly what you mean. I saw a painting yesterday that I really liked and later on s aw that someone else had placed the same painting on the pics of the day. It would be nice to be able to compare notes on it but, for now, it's great that some of the artists who don't solicit comments and aren't interested in getting in the top ten day after day are getting their work seen. I'm sure that eventually we'll see the same little group showing up on pics of the day but, it's nice to see some diversity.

There are just so mnay close up photos of flowers that one can stand to look before they all start looking alike. That's not to say that they aren't good, it's just that there are some artists here doing interesting work and making a statement with their art who don't get as much recognition.

I think the anonimity and randomness (for as long as it lasts) helps with that.

Surprisingly i never face any problem with this beautiful 'pics of day' feature(sher's place).Only thing is have to go at browse and then pics of the day to vew,and to add it 's easy also just two click,fav/potd.But it's a request ,like new image,new comment,announcement please add a alert box at home page(new addition to pics of the day),it'll be more easy for members and also for visitors.

I also agree with Ashok. Make it more accessible if you can. Add a link to the home page and to the Discussion Areas list, if possible.

Yes to avoid spamers(those who may intentionaly add images to galley avail more attaintion),there will always a option to start in future, a pics of the day discussion ares,where members can discuss about the aditions and its apropreation.Then there must a identification of member need who add which one,there will be handful of upgradtion we see in future to this feature for sure.

I think Spammers are already showing their presence at gallery.If the comment option is disabled,then there is no need to pick it for pics of the day.In my opinion images without a comment option are only portfolio images.

I feel that AW should pick the Top 10 from the "Pick of the Day" - Some artists, including myself, are sick and tired of seeing the same artists every single day, and that is because the system now is based on "I do you and you do me" - Very wrong. Time to change it, or get rid of the Top 10. I like the idea of not knowing the artist who put one of your paintings on The Pick Of The Day.

I look at it because I still have 20-20 vision and I'm always hoping to see new names. Does that make sense? Bo, I don't know if you addressed your comment to me, but in any case, this is my reply.

I think,there must be certain value you have to fix for this feature AW. Like the work is already at top ten ranking cann't pick,one work can be pick for this gallery once in a month...

It's looking like you just complete a formality to overcome such a huge request about this feature AW.No allert messege box at home page,No congrats messege to arttist who has placed at pics of the day gallery,Nothing...Almost all members are expressing their unawareness about this feature or placement.I'm sharing my latest email received from a very active member about his pics of the day placement with you AW.I hope you will must do something for sure...

My Choices Are not going to Sher's Gallery...I have done everything you have said to do.My choices just don't do the final step. Is anyone else having this problem?

No,everytime i am useing this feature so nicely.Not any problem here,but why with you only?is it with a perticular artist or with any artist you are selecting?I think AW has to fix it quickly for you.

I'm not sure Ashok, Not one of my choices made it to the Sher's Picks of the day. I have choosen one each day. I have also told AW about this, But nothing has changed. i'll start posting mine back on the discussion boards.

Oh that's sad,is it showing at Manage Favorites & ArtWatch section of your porfolio or not?

To add:Open your selected image,

Then add to favorite

Then select for pics of the day

To vew:Go at browse from menu

And then pics of the day

I'm enjoying this feature but I agree that artists should be notified that they have been added. It feels good to see my pic of the day featured, but I want the artist to know they are there!

I love the pick of the day gallery and I like that we pick it. THat is what Sher started! And also glad it is anonymous that way you don't feel obliged to go back and do the same (scratch my back and i'll scratch yours,idea). And kinda helps that we only have one pick of the day each. Makes it fair. Although I wish more would participate or is talent that lacking lol. I find no beefs with pic of the day, it is not like top ten at all. Nice that we can participate in this :)
