ArtWanted.com Down Time

We want to apologize to all our members for the extended down time that happened this weekend. We encountered some big problems while working on our servers for scheduled maintenance and it went downhill from there.

Fortunately, we make a full backup of our site/data every 15 minutes. Because of this process, very little was lost due to this crash and we were able to restore everything up to the point of failure. If you can't find an image that you uploaded on Saturday evening, you may need to re-upload it.

The changes that were successful were to increase performance for our website going forward. We again apologize for the unexpected down time an hope that the changes we made will improve your ArtWanted.com experience in the future.

The first impression of improvements i got when that OOPS came up....and it explained that you wont be back until 6am....and then later u updated that will take longer....

That is a BIG PLUS+ That is to be appreciated AW...and I thank you for that.....

That we dont sit here and hit buttons until our fingers are bloody trying to get in...LOL

the comments of my new uploaded artwork cant be seen... maybe thats the after crash effect..

Clay......if you check the date of the posts on this thread, you'll see that this apology was for the extended downtime 2 weekends ago, not for the time lost yesterday.

Am I getting frustrated lol ?? Yeah, just a tad !

The technology behind this site is amazing...that so many people from all over the world can upload images simultaneously and they show up instantly. Not many sites do this, if any. Major props, AW!!!

Millions of sites do this, gazillion of sites uploading and down loading in every walk of endeavors, photo, software, music, video and on and on. And MANY of them as a free service.

And very seldom do they go DOWN.

WWW stands for world wide web and AW didnt invent it nor do they make that claim.
