Ah no problem Bianca see what u just mentioned clears it up, because my bank does not have debit card with Visa or any other credit card logo. This product is not available. Don't know if it is just my bank or others in Canada. So, that is the problem I guess. I even wrote email to my bank and they said this product is not available at this time and no my bank is not a small bank.

I am really amazed that there have only been 25 donors so far. Is this correct?

I am wondering how many members were confused by where to go and what to do. I am not typically active on the forums here, and I kept seeing information about voting for a charity and uploading photos and was very confused by what it was and what I should do. Was I donating artwork, or money, or? It was only just now that I got the email newsletter that I found the charity page, and made a donation.

With that said, I would guess that there are over 25 people active on this forum thread. As the end of the month approaches, I'd like to urge everyone to donate! Seems like there was much more energy put into deciding upon a charity than there has been into anyone actually donating to it.

Am I missing something? Has the ticker been kept updated with current information?

Thanks Bianca, that is really really kind of you :) However, I do not feel good about sending cash in the mail as happened to someone I know and the post office, someone stole the cash :( Especially during Christmas Season!!! I appreciate your offer, I do :) I will be purchasing money order tomorrow :)The deadline is fast approaching I see :) Yeah there needs to be more donors!!!

I was thinking the same thing now there are 34 you thing there would be a lot more by now E-mails have been sent out and it is on the Home-page out of this large membership there should be a few hundred by now yes not every one will or can donate some people do not have credit cards or pay-pal and it took a long time to get this going however a few dollars or even just the .99cents is not going to make you richer or poorer but in the masses this money will add up and help some children.

I have been reading this thread and see that Judy is having a tough time with Paypal.

Ok here is my story. I don't believe in credit cards, I have a bank debit card with no visa or anything else except my bank on it and I live in Canada.

4 days ago I set up a paypal without credit card, without giving my debit card to them. 2 days ago I paid for a full membership and last night it went through without any hassles.

So Judy, I believe that it can be done.. LOL I am proof. If your still unable to do so, then yes a money order would be the most secure for you.

It's awesome to be a part of this whole awesome project.

Just a thought, it is possible that the people who did not vote on the Childrens fund do not for one reason or another want to give to the charity that won if it was not the one they voted for.

However I would have thought since the charity that won with better then 100 votes, at least those people should be stepping up to the plate with the rest of us.

Judy, I don't know if they have them in the UK but here in the states you can purchase a gift credit card for any amount. For instance, purchase a Visa Card for ten dollars and use that card for your donation. They sell them in most of the grocery stores.

Judy Minderman 20 Dec 2007

Hi Pamela and thanks for the info! I dunno I tried PayPal at least 5 years ago. Was not hard to follow the steps. But as I mentioned when I got to the end they asked for a credit card for fees. Ok, I know that certain things do not apply equally in all of Canada. For instance, you can get some things in Ontario but not in Quebec, etc...SO, for now, I will pay with money order and try to see about PayPal for the future. Hey Joan, I do not know about UK, I am in Canada but pretty sure I can not find those cards here in grocery stores. Uh, there are prepaid credit cards and I looked into them but they are a big rip off as they charge tons and tons of fees!!!! Can't do it right now! Thanks, you guys are amazing with your help and yeah looks like I have til end of January to donate :)

only 38 donors so far? hey what's up with that?

I thought people wanted this? I mean many of those 38 must have been extremely generous but with 20,000 members you'd think we would have more money by now.

Renate Dartois 23 Dec 2007

Yes Marty-I cannot believe it myself there were more people debating how it should be done and now in almost 2 weeks 38 donations where are all these people that talked the talk I guess now they walked another direction. If we keep going at this rate we won't even see a $1000.00 by the end of January.

Daisy I think by now it is not lack of knowing about the charity drive it is just that there are no Donars. Remember before when we did auctions to help someone it was always just the same few that paticipated. But this turn out for the children's charity is really a disappointment.

I agree John there always seems to be that certain group here that makes an issue out of everything and I am also pretty sure that these people never have any intent to donate it just all about causing problems.

In the first place, I think people don't know about it, I have never received any email from AW about the project?

Secondly I don't understand the donating??

If I click on the link on Mainpage, I can write down my name and the amount of money I want to donate.

Then a page opens with all kind of stuff, but I don't need to type any credit card information or anything? When I click further, I come to a page where I can fill in my name and other info, but that's a page for ordering prints??

Did I donate, or didn't I? I have no idea. If I did, I have donated twice now. LOL And if it's not working, I have not donated at all. Problem is, you can't try it out again, because as much as I like charity, I don't want to donate all the time! lol

So maybe it would be nice if there was a page just for this charity, with clear information how to donate for nitwits like me? :)

Renate Dartois 01 Jan 2008

Anneke I think you are clicking on the wrong page I did that at first also but on the left of the page there is a Donate now from AW and that is very simple.

Anneke Hut 01 Jan 2008

Renate thank you very much, I did click the link you mention. Then I come to the 'normal' print purchase page.

It's confusing, it makes me think, does this all go rigth? I'm afraid I will not be the only stupido here that thinks that way.

In the meantime after reading your message, I have succeeded in donating, just by going on clicking. LOL

But to illustrate, this is the page:
