I added a url link back to my portfolio and that works.
Thanks.
THIS CODE IS COMPLETEY DIFFERENT! ...maybe this is why the buttons are not working ...hope this helps...i dont know why the code is different after i place it but maybe you can figure it out......
I posted a URL in myspace with the widget with comment If buttons dont work please use this link.
Once the code is available AW wont be able to control individual galleries because a person can replace the user ID and access anyone.
This seems to be an either or situation for AW and they can only narrow the window by removing the promote link from some users not close it.
The only way I can see to close the window is to take the code off their server disabling ALL code already posted.
Dosnt mean they wont OUTTHINK me.
But in truth the code code be copied from any site is is posted on and proliferated from there.
Only disabling the code on the server can STOP any possibility.
But I belive this caution is sufficient to define what AW believes is their responsibilities as a custodian, that is they tell you they cannot exercize full custodial control of images on their site.
Digital Artwork Understanding
By posting your artwork on the Internet, you acknowledge that by doing so, allows anyone to download, print, screen-capture and digitally edit your image. This also allows websites such as 'Google Image Search' to take the artwork from this site and add it to their image search functions without credit to the artist. If this concerns you, then you should not post your artwork anywhere on the Internet or you can place a large visible watermark/copyright sign on all your artwork. This will discourage cyber thieves from stealing your artwork.
susan :)
I think this is so awesome but I can't use it anywhere :(
The only problem you should face is forum/group posts. Myspace forum/group entries do not take well to flash. There is a way around it, but you have to change the html code and it can be a bugger to do that each and everytime you go to post. I can't remember how to do it either.
My question for Artwanted is this: Did you create the AW widget from open source code? If so, my only concern is the fact that widgets in general are easy to hack. Since the code is directly linked to our accounts, that means someone could hack our account, correct?
Now, if you have came up with your own code like other art sites have done... things should be safe, or at least safer. If not, using open source code to create the widget might leave a lot of people at risk. However, people need to keep in mind that anything you put online is not safe-proof. There is always someone out there messing with something.
So should we use the AW Widget at our own risk? Do you have a disclaimer about this?
When you copy and paste the code we provide you into their site and save it, MySpace alters the widget HTML code to disable all external links to our site. If you view the source of the MySpace code for the Widget, it's changed from the original code that you uploaded. From what we have seen, they are doing this to most of the Flash code that is copy and pasted into their site, but perhaps not all. We have seen other 'widgets' from other companies on MySpace and Live.com, that the links are also disabled, just like the ArtWanted.com Widget.
Our developers are working on code tests that MySpace will accept and not alter when it's copy and pasted into their site.
The code for the Widget is built 100% by our staff.
