I upload paintings, photography and other design to my AW account. I wouldn't want all of my images in my widget though... how can I go about just selecting one of my folders for display in the widget?

ana dilodilo 01 Sep 2007

it is so coooollll!!!! nice job on this one!

ArtWanted.com Staff 01 Sep 2007

It looks like the buttons are disabled if you put the Widget on MySpace, so we will look into any ways around that.

michael - We currenly don't have a ways to select which artwork shows up in your Widget, since it just shows your most recent work. However, we are sure that this will be a future upgrade to the Widget at some point down the road.

Steph Salt 01 Sep 2007

Why can't I get to see the widget on my friends site Staff, but I can see my own in Blogger?

AW Staff: Steph, we see your Widget working fine on this site. You must have got it working. Let us know if you have any other issues.

AW, one of the options is to search artwork through "keywords". This isn't an option if we select our own portfolio to Widget?

If we put a keyword first in that field won't the Widget search our portfolio for that keyword?

What about putting a certain word in the front of our title to the image. Will the widget search that word in our own portfolio?

ArtWanted.com Staff 01 Sep 2007

The KEYWORD search will search all artwork on ArtWanted.com for the word you have put in. You currently can't select a specific artist and then keywords from just that artist, you have to pick if you want the artist or the keywords, but not both.

However, this is only the first day of the Widget, so we are sure we will make upgrades to it in the near future, like allowing someone to search for a keyword within a specific artists' portfolio.

Outstanding!

I read it to mean that it can work through "keywords" whether you've selected yourself or random images.

Thanks for the clarification!

Absolutely awesome new feature! I'm dumbfounded and thrilled. I've revamped my website to accommodate the "widget" and also myspace. No more hours of trying to code--you did it..You rock!!!!! Thank you!

Laura Smith 01 Sep 2007

Yeah I put mine on my myspace page and no go with the buttons... nothing happens. Let us know if/when you get that fixed.

Most forums I use now only accept BB code, which I confess I don't know a lot about. Is there any way to convert the code and still have it work?

AW STAFF: From what we have seen, the BB code differs from site to site, so there is not a universal way that you could make the Widget compatible with all forums. You would have to review the BB code for that specific website and try and convert the Widget code into this, but it may or not be possible, depeneding on what BB codes are accepeted.

New stuff, like Widgets may be great, but what about the GDB?!

Christopher Ewing 01 Sep 2007

AW this is totally awesome, love the idea!!

I do have a few questions tho, first..the code you have for us to put on websites and such, that is for the artist/photog..correct? It is already in there for each person or do we put in our names? Also, about the items for sale..how does that work? we set prices? or are they preset? also, if preset..how much do we recieve? This is Awesome idea, and I was wondering about sales. I know as well as learning, I am wanting to sell my work also. I think this idea will really help us all finally start selling. We are no longer limited to just a print, or painting of some sort. So an Excellent Idea..Thanks

Shane Cutrufello 02 Sep 2007

This a great idea!

You guys should consider making an artwanted.com Yahoo! widget, for the desktop.
