New Artist Group Updates!

We are excited to announce a big update to our Artist Groups section of ArtWanted.com. We have created many new features and functions to help you gain more exposure to your artwork and participate more in our Artist Groups. Here are the details…

1) MULTIPLE GROUPS PER IMAGE – You can now post your artwork into 5 different groups that you belong to. You no longer have to pick only one group for your image, you can post the same image in multiple groups that fit your image.

2) NEW GROUP LAYOUT – We have updated the look and feel of the groups pages to be more visual. Each group now has a thumbnail image of the group to quickly identify the type of art that will be found in that group. We have also removed the long text list of groups on the summary page and improved the layout. We also include the most recent group posts on the summary page.

3) RANDOM GROUPS – There is a section on the group summary that highlights a few random groups. You can click a link to view additional random groups to see what comes up. You never know what groups will come up.

4) GROUPS ART FEED – We have added a new section to the “Art Feed” area for artist groups. You can now click a link on the Art Feed to view all the new images for the groups that you belong to.



5) FEATURED GROUP – Each day we are going to highlight a different Artist Group of our site. We will feature this group on the main group page as well as our Facebook page. This will help promote the groups we have and bring new activity to each group.

6) E-MAIL GROUP POSTS – When a new post is made to the group message board, all members in that group will now get a copy of that post via e-mail. This will help bring more participation to the group and the messages that are posted. If you don’t want the e-mails, you can also turn them off in your Member Preferences.

7) MORE FEATURES FOR ADMINS – As a group administrator, you now have many new options. You can remove an image from the group that doesn’t meet the guidelines, you can remove a member from the group that may be abusing/spamming the group and you can remove message board posts. You can also pick which image will be displayed as your main thumbnail image for the group. Another minor change was to break out the “rules” of the group into a different field, so it doesn’t take up all the space at the top of your group page.

8) SOCIAL MEDIA SHARING – We have added Facebook, Twitter & Digg icons on the group pages. This allows you to quickly share/promote the group to your social media friends. We have also added an RSS feed for each group, so you can always get the latest images/info on the groups you belong to.

We hope you enjoy these new artist group features and that you can participate more in the groups you belong to. If you don’t find a group that matches what you are looking for, go ahead and create a new group for others to join! Posting your art in groups brings more exposure to you and your artwork and it’s fun to participate in groups that share common interests. Have fun!
