It only took me a couple of days to get a response from AW about the spamming with multiple copies from the boards and sending to them...but ALAS !!! AW actually came through Thank you AW for responding and taking care of the problem

I've sent two messages to AW stuff, they never answered and it took them about a week to react. The reaction was good, may be a bit too late. Actually the situation calls for a smarter reaction because it is rather dangerous for AW owners and stuff - they can be accused of support of an illegal business. And it can be rather sad for all AW members - AW can be closed for it.

I sent in a message about the spam as well, they sent me a thank you too and said they added some restrictions to make it harder for someone to do that again.

I am very thankful for that, I was afraid that nothing would be done and that would be the end of this message board.

Pay attention to the new member section on AW home page. Seems one more spamer is coming. I posted a message to the stuff about that, but now I am rather sceptical. Crows feel AW weakness and are coming from all sides hoping for a corpse. Can AW defend itself if it is not completely dead yet?

Still one more spamer has come to promote his illegal business again. Calls himself Jones Lee. Look into the todays new artwork section and a new thread in this part of the message board. May anybody suggest effective defence measures against such.... (don't want to use a proper word for them)...

That fake ID guy keeps posting as does a couple other medical ads. Wouldn't it be nice if AW would enforce some of their rules and just outright ban these people ?

I still think "they" are letting the "bots" run this site, or they just check in once a month...maybe...if that often. I've seen a couple of just out and out porn photo's posted that would have normally be removed within a day or two at most. This site sure has gone downhill

Yes, RQ, I noticed those porno photos... you'd be surprised, they were removed exactly as you wrote - in a day or two. Someone deleted them. Someone also chooses featured images more or less regularly, may be even daily. I do not think bots are doing that...

Not so with all them - silly promoters of different illegal goods and services. Bots could easily detect and remove promotional spam of this kind - it has multiple small images of bad quality and links, which are prohibited by AW rules. However, neither bots nor humans bother to remove that. Why? May it be that the spammers just pay for premium membership and it's one of the few sources of income, left for AW?

Yuri, I agree it is probably just for the almighty dollar...

I remember when AW decided to cater to schools and started doing a major censorship of anything that was seductive or sexual in content.

Do you remember when they banned one guy for flower pictures that looked sexual ? I do

But like you, I believe it is just for the money now.

It is a pity that I didn't see those porno flowers, it could be funny! I am comparably new as AW member and I have not seen this site in much better times...

I am rather tolerant for porno or at least for tasteful nudity... I also admit that promotion is the engine of sales, ... BUT... AW has its own rules and I do not see much problem to follow them... Besides... When I go to Paris, I want to come to Paris, not to Damask. The same here: I joined AW as the site for visual art, and I do not want to find here a porno site or a storage for various spam and scum. That is the problem.

Happy New Year for all of you and all yours! And I hope to meet you the next year as more active members of a better community on a great artistic site!!!

I'll be here unless something surprising happens to me. Hopefully AW will be bettered monitored...but I seriously doubt it. My Happy New Years would be to see a red dot on the forehead of. On a serious note, hoping to finish my "Zoo" piece. Starting to lose interest in it. Happy happy New Years all you regulars.
