1979 Trans am Midnight Black

This sketch took only one hour, I did my best now I must learn the subtle art of shading

You got the front end pretty right on. I think the "cab" area is to high, and unless this is a newer model the trunk end is to squat/short from the old versions. Not bad for an hour sketch

RQ has it get the top down in perspectiveand it'll be a real nice sketch, keep at it

Good Drawing

Binky, you're doing very well. Learning to see shapes to draw instead of the "car that my brain knows" is very difficult. And then we have to get our fingers to do the work!

I see improvements all the time. Remember to compare your work to your reference when you think you are done. For one hour, this is mighty fine! That front end is very recognizable as a trans am.

Fellow Artists, thank you for all my encouragement!

this does look a bit high .... I find it easyer to use a lose hand with sketching... just putting down lines first to get the perportions right before i start in a hard lines. then you dont waist your time... good going though... it all starts with practice.

That's a great start. My farther used to draw Hot Rod cars all the time and even got some work in Hot Rod magazine. I remember him drawing in the all black shapes first sometimes in his drawings. Try blocking in all the black areas before the line art. Things like the shadow under the car and tires. This can help alot when it come to drawing things mechanical. Great job so far...keep it up!
