I have this bad habit of drawing objects floating in white space, and arranging them in grids or other patterns. The point is to focus on how the objects relate to each other, not a setting. What do you all think of WHITE SPACE??

One day a student asked Taiga, What is the most difficult part of painting?
Taiga answered: The part of the paper where nothing is painted is the most difficult.
You have no problem with this particular work. It is just fine as it is.
If you are concerned about composition, draw value studies with shapes and play around with them. Decide "why" you want to do the artwork, what you want to come forward (your focal point) and then arrange things that lead your eye to where you want it to go. Lightest light against darkest dark usually draws the eye immediately. Then you have your edges...sharp ones draw the eye, lost and soft ones don't so much. In your composition, you need to establish a path for your viewer's eye to follow to the focal point. White space can help a lot in drawing. Make sure the eye of the view doesn't wander out of the picture, never to return. Anyway, that's the advice my mentor has given me, and so far, I just about find it make total sense. Good luck. You've got a wonderful gift there. Carry on.
