copyright

Can someone please tell me the correct way to put a copyright on your work. Do you put the year before or after your name? Is it (c) 2004 Cindy Webb? I may be able to display some of my work in a small local gallery, but they want me to have a copyright on each photo. Thanks for helping.

Copyrights are personal. You can do it any way you like. Some put their company name and year... some just the year, some put the "c" symbol and their name... it's personal preference, and how it fits into your picture the best. If you are displaying in a gallery, it's best to have the copyright include your name and year (so people know it is YOUR work). Hope this helps...

This is what I do on mine... (this is a colored pencil picture, the web version has the copyright on it)

Thank you Christina, that does help. I'm just nervous about showing up and looking like I don't what I'm doing (which is true!) Have a great day.

I put the year before my name, when I overlay my images with copyright info.

This is the way I have seen it done most often.

:)
