i like the idea of K's idea, not neccessarily tell them how to vote, but a big in your face page telling them they must act socially appropriate, you would not walk into an art gallery and call people names or curse at them, or downgrade them, why should that be allowed here?????

Pat, your work is wonderful and speaks for itself to anyone who has real artistic vision. I was systematically attacked by several people a while ago because I left constructive criticism with 7s or 8s on some peoples' postings. Eventually they get tired and go away. I think AW needs to enforce their policies about proper conduct.

Before anyone can place one vote, they must read and agree to our voting guidelines. This is the page that explains how to vote and what not to do.

Sadly, most people don't read these type of things and just skip to the bottom and hit OK.

A number of good thoughts in this thread; reassuring that sanity, kindnes and common sense still prevail.

You Pat are one of our best examples of that, in my opinion.

Thank you everyone for the support. I belong to another site that rates with stars and they seem to have no problems. I put up a few images and was rated with friendly honesty. I don't quite get all the certificates and things you have to earn. But it is fun and I became a member for the year. Thought I would try it out. This is still by far the best place though. I like the way my portfolio is set up and there are more amateurs like myself here. My new place has many pros and I feel a little lost. But I have many pros to learn from thru their honesty. Which is what I want. Thanks again to all of you and to AW for taking care of my ratings. Oh, I would like to add that this new site makes you read a disclaimer about them not being an ego boosting site and that everyone is rated with honesty. There does not seem to be any maliciousness, everyone comments constructively and in a friendly manner. You also can not rate with a free membership.

TO ALL

I think ALL OF YOU have some very good points I joined and was a free member for about 4 yrs now I am paying member and chose to keep my ratings on I do agree with why so many turned theres off and respect there choice

When I see a lot of artist say if you do not like the ratings turn them off as there answer to everything I don't think this will solve anything in the long run

MY personal view I feel Artwanted should advise all new members in depth how the rating system works and how to get there own art work to the level they would like to be at This way they are all advised how to use numbers 1-4 and may save a lot of stress for others in the future

I know when I joined I knew a flat nothing about anything on this site there was some very nice artists who are now friends who helped me understand it all

We can not screen the people that join

Artwanted can advise them That way they have the knowledge to start in the right direction at the start

A lot of new member get slammed mostly for lack of knowledge and I feel this is unfair to them

They need to know that many artist worked hard to get there rating up to a ten level

to use the skip button if they disagree

to also look at the artist work and see if there is something they do like to help this artist maintain there ratings

This way we could be helping each other

I know we would still get a few odd ones

There are a lot of new and older artists out there who are really nice people

We need to make this site a WELCOME PLACE TO SHARE IN ALL ASPECTS OF ART AND FRIENDSHIP

I HAVE ADDED THIS COMMENT ON TO OTHER THREADS AS WELL

THANK YOU SHER FOR YOUR COMMENT

HAVE A GREAT DAY
