AW, of all people to attack...... There has to be something wrong with this guy. Pat is one of the nicest, sweetest ladies on the site!

stan jones 29 Jan 2005

it just goes to show Pat you cant be honest with people and there work havent you learnt any thing here yet i know you do great work and so does every one else

you just cant give peole a low rate and live tho it

29-Dec-04 02:49 PM Pat Abbott This would be better if it was in focus. 7/10

i have seen the piece he has up in its shining glory if it where me i would have said take it down and start again

Pat Abbott 29 Jan 2005

Hey Stan, did you notice that there were others who gave him a low rating? I wonder if he is attacking them as well?

stan jones 29 Jan 2005

yes i did Pat dont worry i feel sorry for you and makes me bloody mad that any one who has not used there account in over 3 months can do this type of thing

i know you dont Deserve the treatment your getting but as i well know that one does not go after the the know bodies on this site they head straight to the top person

guess what your it

sorry i should not have said the know bodies but what i mean is the folks that dont get top ten consistently

take a leaf out of my book Pat turn your ratings off and sit back and enjoy the ride

the comments are nicer the folks that hit you with low rates dont both because there is no power for them so they will move on they dont leave nasty comments because they cant back up there words with out a rate

i have have taken a look at others and yes here has hit one with 5/7

shaylis has her ratings off he wont hit some one where the ratings are off

hang in there Pat the fight has only begun Jesi Barger well i cant see her comments

Pat Abbott 29 Jan 2005

I might just do that Stan. But you know I like the top ten. It is nice to be recognized for something you work hard at. I am not a professional photographer. I taught myself and took advice from others, most were from AW. I am growing tired of it though. People sending me nasty emails because of a 9 rating and now this. I will not post any more work until they remove his nasty comments from my portfolio. Thanks for listening/reading.

dont play into there hands Pat i made that mistake keep putting your work up but take a rest from the rating game there is a lot of us doing it now because of the same reason your going to go thou

hows this for luck less than twelve months ago i did not know one end of the camera to the other so you see we dont need to be professional photographers to take good photos sit back and take the ride and enjoy your hobby i honestly look forward to the comments now not the rate not only that i am getting more views on my work without the rate

Pat Abbott 29 Jan 2005

Thanks Stan, I will shut off my ratings too. It has been a bad week and I am exhausted. You are a good friend. You sure know how to use that camera now. Thanks for hearing me out.

He has one very poor quality image in his portfolio that was uploaded a few months ago. Obviously he is here for reasons other than that of the artistic nature. I have seen his comments with others and don't think he belongs here. His occasional spurts of comments are uncalled for and obviously a personal turn on to aggravate more honorable and deserving artist.

Banning individuals of this nature can only benefit AW and the deserving artist that have respect for others work on this site.

stan jones 29 Jan 2005

i was told my a professional photographer. just two weeks ago the only differance between his work and mine was he was getting paid to do the same thing as i

food for thought Pat your work is more out standing than mine

Susan Epps 29 Jan 2005

So sorry, Pat....you just don't deserve that kind of treatment.

sher richardson 29 Jan 2005

Hello Pat...

I backtracked to the points where he was rating.. It is a blatant attack on you and took it out on your work.. He rated others works with blantant 10's and yours with rudeness...and 1's and anything under 5's...

* *This is the kind of person that needs to be put on suspension.....! When anyone rates many works with that kind of meaness, they need their comments and rating privileges GONE...

Don't feel bad Pat- and know this person is for some reason taking out his wrath on you..

Justin Jenkins 29 Jan 2005

Hey Pat AW will remove those dont worry. That is absolutely rediculous and im behind you 100%. AW will remove these based on the fact they are obnoxious and not legitimate! Your work is incredible!!

IT comes down to a simple common sensical conclusion that those ratings should be removed ASAP! AW will do the right thing.

stan jones 29 Jan 2005

i see you still have had no response from Andy or the staff yet

Bob MacPherson 30 Jan 2005

Pat; I don't understand the insanity that is running loose on this wonderful site. I know what you are feeling. You do not deserve this.

What continues to be even more disturbing, is that with each of these events, dispite haven a good staff, there is seldom a reassuring response from them, and action ALWAYS comes too late.

There are simple ways to structure a workable system.I submitted one this past week. I was told it had some good points, but that's as far as I got.

It is beginning to seem that Stan has the only place to escape idiocity, that is by turning off votes. This is shameful; and some of us would be surprised at who some of the smaller players are, who think they go unnoticed.

You are top of the heap in my books Pat.

Pat -

We have removed all of these low votes to your portfolio and given the voter a warning about this issue, because it's their first time offense. It's interesting, because David also gave you more high marks in general on other images in your portfolio.

We plan to make some changes to the rating system this spring and are gathering everyone's feedback and suggestions for this update. Please continue to post your suggestions to the boards. We read each one and note down your ideas. Thanks.

HELLO EVERY ONE: THE RATEINGS-I THINK THAT THE NEW MEMBERS SHOULD BE MADE AWARE OF HOW THEY REALLY WORK. THEY SHOULD BE TOLD WHEN THEY JOIN THAT THE SKIP BUTTON IS TO BE USED WHEN EVER THEY DO NOT LIKE THE ARTIST ART WORK. TO ONLY USE THE NUMBER RATINGS WHEN THEY WANT TO PROMOTE THAT ARTIST THAT THEY DO LIKE.LIKE A VOTING SYSTEM.WE NEVER VOTE FOR SOMEONE WE DO NOT LIKE-WE ALWAYS VOTE FREELY FOR OUR CHOICE.LIKE SHOPPING FOR LIFE WE CHOICE WHAT WE LIKE AND AVOID THE REST.CAN WE NOT RATE THE SAME WAY?PLEASE EXCUSE ANY MISSED SPELLED WORDS OR LACK OF RIGHT COMMAS AND PERIODS-THIS IS NOT MY FAV FORM OF ART.WELL ART WANTED YOU ASKED SO THIS IS MY IDEA. QUESTION: WHEN EVERY ONE RATED THE PICTURES FOR THE NEW BOOK-HOW WAS IT DECIDED WHICH ART WORKS GOT INTO THE BOOK IN THE END? WHAT WAS THE REAL DECIDING FACTOR?

Justin Jenkins 31 Jan 2005

Im very happy for Pat! Great job AW

sher richardson 31 Jan 2005

Hello K.. Don't even go near the BOOK topic : )

The book was voted on by artists with masters degrees and those who had many years in the art professional field......:or NOT?:

Pat Abbott 31 Jan 2005

Thank you for taking care of this for me AW. I still will not comment on anyone's work if I must leave a number rating. With the exception of the people I know and trust not to hunt me down and shoot to kill.

Christina Toews 31 Jan 2005

Pat, it's horrible that this happened to such a wonderful person. My heart goes out to you. Keep up the good work, don't let it discourage you, because you know that everyone who counts knows you are great! :)
