Unfortunatly a fact of life..although live in a good enviroment to create art is a plus...Travel to your local township or city how ever far away and push your work..or go ebay like some do here in artwanted.com...my problem the work I do appeals to an international scale out-side of Philadelphia..have been offered shows in Europe..but not ready to tackle that responsiblity yet..William any artists live near you?? if they do contact them they may help you find local out-lets..

The truth is the artist sells the art -but the artist needs to find the buyers, and while i have sold many works to people in my area, generally they are the new wave of people, running away from the 'big city' life. I do a fair bit of commuting and i take my work to large regional galleries and have them spread over I guess 600 km - but i also have a home studio gallery and people do come to me and buy 'direct from the artists'i have my place signposted and advertised locally etc.,

I have it set up in a room in my house as a personal gallery - not flash but people find it an experience - the longer they stay, the more likely they are going to connect to my work and the stories that go with them...and then buy, it becomes an experience, memory, as well as a 'purchase' this is just one idea and what i do in Australia...

i live in a Very small town 300 people some 280 km south of Perth... good luck tho it can be done....most of my work is bought by overseas tourist who come here on holidays... so i try to turn the distance thing into a positive...
