i ditto that.

Patrick Miller 12 Feb 2005

What did that comment even mean?

Pat Abbott 12 Feb 2005

I saw that too. What is wrong with people? That is such a lovely piece of work.

Nina Kuriloff 12 Feb 2005

The comment meant that the artwork does not have a 3 dimensional quality and that it looks flat.

William Bonnichsen 12 Feb 2005

stained glass like, it is however worth more than a 4 from someone with no images.

stan jones 12 Feb 2005

Thankyou Stan... i believe that's the same person?

yasmina brito

Neither of the above works warrant those simple remarks and low ratings for the images ... by someone who has no work or imformation in their portfolio as to their past or current artistic knowledge...etcetc....

AW, could you please check this out?

RQ Trietsch 12 Feb 2005

Apparently Yasmina hasn't looked at your portfolio and the caliber of work you do. I stopped rating/commenting on most of your works because I think most of your works are 9+ if not 10's.

I did find this one quiet a pleasant surprise from your other works... a new direction ?? Or just a change of attitude for the moment?

William Bonnichsen 12 Feb 2005

I might have been wrong in doing this but I just sent Yasmina Brito a very polite e-mail asking when they were going to post somethings for us to see. No response as of yet.

sher richardson 12 Feb 2005

Oh RQ, are you thinking thats my work? Its Renate Dartois work... and i think this is a bit of a slight new direction for her... a very close up facial expression with more of a realism approach combined with her signature style...

Guess i didnt make that clear enough...? I saw that 4 on her work and said the F word : )

sher richardson 12 Feb 2005

....Hello William...

as long as the Email was polite....

Thanks for your concern as well : )

And William i think youre new? I should explain that most of the trouble started on this site with mean and sneeky comments and lowball ratings come from members with no work in their portfolio. I feel an option button could be easily put in the members options area to take ONLY comments from these no works accounts and not ratings...

William Bonnichsen 12 Feb 2005

no proplem... and it was very polite I have been introduced to the feeling of a low rating when others have thought it good.

Renate Dartois 12 Feb 2005

I just came home 10 min. ago and saw the nice surprise someone left on my work. I want to thank you all for your wonderful comments and yes it hurts because this person is just being mean. Actually I feel bad because this the first portrait I tried to paint of one of my daughters I had sketched her before. I just sent an E-mail to Art wanted and I am demanding it be taken off so we will see what happens Thank you again for all your support.

Steph Salt 13 Feb 2005

Someone doesn't understand art fully, your picture of your daughter is beautil renate. I agree lets have a button to clear away offensive remarks and lowballs by those with few or no pictures in their portfolios.

But Sher what happens if they fill their portfolio with rubbish to get past that rule? All they need to do is fill it with half decent family snapshots.........

Renate Dartois 13 Feb 2005

Thanks Steph---The lowballers are one thing but the fact that Artwanted does not respond to this thread or to my e-mail is what bothers me if this thread would be about an image of questionable nudity being removed their respnoce would be swift-I don't blame the creepy lowballer it is the fact that they get away with it that bothers me and that is a mangement problem-it has happend to so many artist here and every time it is a hassle getting these ratings removed if at all.

Bob MacPherson 14 Feb 2005

Aw: I've said this before:

You could save so much trouble and unpleasentness, by moving swiftly when these things start. If in fact you are on a case in question, communicating with the injured party would indeed be helpful.

Just common sense courtesy -- doesn't cost a dime.

With respect and good intent Bob
