My three sisters and I remember...

when we were paying 5 cents for a gallon of gas, good old days! This was our first car and my sister, Olga, driving.

Haha Bert, such an oldtimer, that's impossible for a young man like you!

5 Cents for a gallon, wow! We pay 4,50 euros for a gallon! What do you pay for it now over there?

Olga van Dijk 20 May 2008

Bert, are you sure it's me? LOL ;-))) When we came to the US (11 years ago) we paid $0.89 cents... love and Light for you!

We are paying now between $3.65 - $4.00, depending on where you live. Today I put my down-payment on a regular bike... giving my car to the Salvation Army..!!

That's a very good cause, Bert!!

No, Olga, that's not you, but your beautiful name is. Won't be long when oil will be selling for $200.00 a barrel, if not more, or no more oil. Need to do something pronto.

Anneke, You are one genius. Love what you did and I'm sure Olga did too. I'm going to frame it, fine job you did. Thanks.

Anneke this is so cool the way you changed that photo-very funny.

Olga van Dijk 21 May 2008

Oh Anneke, ik zit hier hardop te lachen... What a great change!! Ha ha ha! I'm sure we'll have a great ride Bert!

bert cortes 21 May 2008

Not so sure about a great ride with you driving, Olga...!! but the driver could not be anymore beautiful and that's what's great. Anneke did a beautiful job.

Anneke Hut 21 May 2008

Look Bert! Hands free!! LOL

bert cortes 21 May 2008

Anneke, Free hands are nice, but my driver is going to get in a wreck and get a citation...!! As for me, you either extracted my teeth or put a black tape on my mouth to keep my big mouth shut...!! Great job, as usual.

I thought when Olga is having fun at the wheel, your warm smile might cool down a bit? LOL :)))

Bert, why would I ever want to shut you up, your words are very inspiring, they scream for getting pictured!

It's over £5 a gallon here in the UK now.

Maybe it's a good idea, and cut down on unnecessary journeys. People will have to learn to walk again when the fuel runs out anyway.

Years ago my grandmother said:

'by the year 2000 we will all be driving cars with propellers attached and flying above roads, not on them'. (think she might have confused her idea with helicopters!)

That's a sweet little bumblebee! :)
