Sorry, Alex, because my English level doesn't allow me to UNDERSTAND all you wrote here. But at the first sight, I don't like ALL I understood. I feel only NEGATIVE FEELINGS and unnecessary criticism. Looks like words written by a rancorous person. Sorry if I'm wrong: it's not my intention to offend you. But I'll consult more members to check if their opinion matches with mine.

"YOU had the temerity to speak out against Franco and THIS is the best you have to offer your fellow 'artists'???? A 'color my fish' pic!!??? i'm not even going to ask what you were doing for amusement when we ran the Save the Children forum...but the turnout for that compared to the one for this playpen project pretty much nails the group mentality here."

I forgot to reply your question. I don't like to be obliged to tell it here but right now it is neccesary.

My wife and I started -four years ago- to pay (monthly) the education, health bills and food of an African child 6 years old and his family. He has a name, a face, and from time to time he writes to us talking about his studies, his family, his hopes... It's an expensive effort for us but this way we think this child can have future. I cannot save the entire World but I truly think I can help to improve it. This one was my amusement in the last four years and it continue to be in future. Because I also have an African son.

Alex, the World is waiting to be saved by you and you waste your time criticizing a 'non-art' 'color my fish' challenge????? Come on..... I don't know who you are, but I'm sure you can do better than that.

Peace in, Lior

I had to rub my eyes a couple of times....

"A -Color- My -Fish- PIC"????

Does that "OneWorldPeace Project" -writer has a passport?? Did he/she ever travel over the ocean to see how SPAIN was under the dictatorial regime of FRANCO??

Does he ever travel out of the States???

Does he know what the title "OneWorldPeace" means?? I mean: PEACE?

I don't get it... I don't get why he wrote you here Armando. Did I miss something? (Must be my Dutch... may be I misunderstood?!)

What we're doing in this wonderful thread is a cultural and artistic expression of many artists having a lot of fun in the meantime.

Personally I've learned a lot from the Grieving woman of the Costa del Morte, and about the background of the Fishers' wives in Spain, a moving and heart wrenching story.

"These women whose men's life is at sea are always grieving...one for the sea is the mistress she cannot compete with and two, they have balances that must be met by the sea and sometimes there are losses of lives. Very tragic" is what one of our artist wrote.

Well, Love and Light, OLGA

No, Olga, itsn't your Dutch. About this person - supposed to be gone- nothing to say. I always had an excellent relationship with him, based on mutual respect. I think he's angry because I didn't participate on that Save the Children project. I didn't take part in that initiative because of my mood and personal problems the time they started it and, most of all, because I already had my own "amusement": Gratien Ambassa Mpalla. This one is a letter I got from "my African son" few days ago. He mixes French and English words, BUT HE WROTE the letter. Four years ago he didn't know what a school was; nowadays he CAN WRITE. I'll pray Gratien will use this FACULTY in a better way than Alex does.

wow that is fantastic Armando! my hats off to you. as for you original post, looks to me you were just trying to make things a little more fun around here.

Armando Salas 30 Jul 2008

You're welcome, Jim, to the barn of this collective madness :-)

I just visited your portfolio but I thought you had more artwork on it. Am I right?

Cristina Marsi 30 Jul 2008

Hi all I hadnt discovered this thread until a few hours ago, but thats for the better, or, given the wonderful works everybody created, i would never have started my own version. I took some artistic licences with it, the main one is moving it to the north Adriatic sea :)

jim rownd 30 Jul 2008

yes I did at one time. then I had some issues with management on some things. one of which was the amount of time this site was down ( it was a lot). why pay for that?

Armando Salas 30 Jul 2008

I already commented on your portolio, Cristina. AMAZING work. You can take all the artistic licenses you'll want. Creativeness is the key. This makes me think about the version Hiromi Green could do (No, she isn't "in" by now). I imagine my peixeiras this way: two geishas and one samurai instead of the old fisher. Fuji mountain on the background of course :-))))))

*pulls soap box out from under Alex, The Peace Man* What a waste tsk tsk... do we continually have to point out to you that nobody cares that your a mental explosion waiting to happen, your not pissed at the kiddies, your pissed at yourself because no one wants to play with you. I don't see you in the Artwanted board spouting off about the place, no they would get mad at you and crap, then you would have to go to the trouble of getting another alias. If your so dang unhappy here, move along, there isn't anyone who would plead your case to stay.

We didn't save any worlds by this little challenge, but we did bring together a small group of ppl who might otherwise have passed each other by, if you can't understand that concept Alex, your to wrapped up in yourself to pretend to be of a caring nature to others.

Armando, Those pictures are pretty cool, I can definitely see how my drawings suit the era. I am surprised that the fishermen are more clean cut then I imagined but the essence comes forth regardless. Thanks for sharing those with me/us!!

Woah, then Christina shows up with yet another incredible version... Awesome Christina!!

Minnie, Thanks for your expression of my version..... and I must say your too funny LOLOL!!

*as the playground clears all that is left is one lonely broken little man hiding behind the school yard's wall* PEACE OUT

Hi everyone! You are a talented lot indeed!

I just want to thank all who gave my offering so many kind comments. But all the praise belongs to Armando for coming up with such an inspirational and fun idea.

It certainly got me out of a creative rut:-)))

Armando.... Loved your collection of photos.

Here's one I came across that may be a valuable reference for anyone in our group, enjoy!

P.S. Alex this is a FUN thing!

Armando Salas 31 Jul 2008

Good morning, World :-) I'm more than thrilled, because of so many talented and ENTHUSIASTIC artists working on this project. As I read your comments, looks like we all are learning from each other. At least I learnt a lot and each and every work of you is a gift for me.

I wish to thank you for this unforgettable experience. It improves my art and makes me feel better. Really, I feel myself if I were a peixeira :-)))

--------------------

Roy, your photo helped me a lot. :-)))

Not sure, but I think this one is a Portuguese woman. It doesn't matter really: Portuguese and Galician people are very similar; also the language.

P.S.- Please look at my outfit. I'm soooo sexyyyyyy...! :-)

Armando Salas 31 Jul 2008

This way, you're welcome, dear Alex.

I can understand your anger but people involved in this project never might be the target They -we- are people sharing art, illusion... peace. This thread -although in General Discussion Board- isn't the suitable arena for debate.

Excuses are accepted and I'll forget this issue. Please do the same.

P.S.- About that gay group, I simply cannot share the AW Staff decision. ---- Gay, lesbian, nude, war, politics... This one isn't the subject matter. Only the good taste and common sense matters.
