"AW STAFF: Thanks for your comments/feedback. As we were going through early mockups of our new site, we went through dozens of possible color options for the new site. This is the design/colors that our staff preferred and we will probably stick with it for a while. Most of the feedback over the new design has been very positive and we know we can not make every person happy. However, the more feedback we get will ultimatly decide if the colors/background changes in the near future. We will also considers your suggestions about the comments." OF COURSE YOU CAN'T MAKE ALL HAPPY,BUT DO YOU REALLY KNOW WHAT ALL THINKS..DOES ALL ARE HERE. I USUALLY NOT VISIT HERE, BECAUSE I'M MUCH TOO BUSY... BUT THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT... I MUST SAY, I COULD NOT PAINT TODAY.. I GAVE MUCH TIME TO THIS HERE, BECAUSE IT'S IMPORTANT TO ME, BECAUSE I LOVE THIS PLACE... BUT NOT THIS WAY... IT SEEMS TO ME YOU TOOK THE PERFECT BASE YOU HAD. SO I WOULD SUGGEST ONCE MORE, GIVE US THE OPTION, TO CHOOSE.... WE MUST CHOOSE THE BACKGROUND.. I SEE IT NOW, AS NONE PROFESSIONAL CHOICE, AS I EXPLAINED EARLIER. IT'S VERY PROBLEMATIC CHOICE THE DARK POWERFUL GREY, THAT CONTROL THE LOOK OF THE PORTFOLIO, THAT "STEAL" THE SHOW OF IMAGE, AND COMMENTS... WHAT YOU SEE IN THE NEW LOOK IS - "YOUR NEW LOOK" OF BACKGROUND AND HUGE BUTTONS, NOT CLEAR IMAGES AND COMMENTS........... ABOUT THE COMMENTS AND REPLIES, NOTHING TO CONSIDER, SIMPLY, YOU HAVE TO MAKE IT AS IT WAS, AS IT IS IN OTHER ART SITES, AS IT IS HERE,IN MASSAGE BOARDS, IN SUCH SIZE THAT I CAN READ IT WITH PLEASURE, NOT WITH EFFORTS. AND I USE THE RIGHT GLASSES TO DO SO, BY THE WAY.... THERE ARE OLDER PEOPLE THEN ME WITH REAL PROBLEMS OF EYES IN THIS SITE. UNTIL THE CHANGES THE SIZE OF FONTS IN COMMENTS AND REPLY WAS PERFECT.. DO PERFECT SITE, DEAR AW...AND ANDY NOW, NOT ALL COME AND SAY WHAT THEY THINK. SOME ARE AFRAID TO DO SO. SOME HAVE NO TIME, TO BE HERE, SO THE CHOICE MADE BY THOSE WHO HAS MORE TIME ?... GO READ, JUST FEW MORE PEOPLE WHO DOES NOT LIKE THE GREY COLOUR. OR THE NEW LOOK, AT MY LATEST IMAGE. CHECK WELL, WHO IS REALLY HAPPY, WHO IS NOT... CHECK THIS WELL.. SEND AN E.MAIL TO ALL, ASK FOR FEEDBACK.- A COLLECTIVE MAIL. I WRITE WHAT I WRITE BECAUSE I LOVED THE AW OLD WAY OF SITE.... YET...

DO YOUR BEST...!! YOUR BEST, IS NOT THIS KIND OF DESIGN, I'M SORRY.

I HAVE MUCH MORE CRITIC, DEAR ANDY AND STUFF.. BUT THE 2 MAIN THINGS THAT I ASK YOU HERE, MUST CHANGE : BACKGROUND.. A CHOICE FOR EACH MEMBER. AND.. THE COMMENTS REPLIES. THIS IS THE BASE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT WAS YOUR PERFECT BASE, THAT I LOVE, UNDERSTAND ?... CONSULT THE MORE ACTIVE MEMBERS HERE, WHO POST DAILY. THEY KNOW BEST, FOR SURE. I WISH TO OPEN MY PORTFOLIO WITH A SMILE... , AS IT WAS UNTIL THE 15 OF JULY... THANK YOU AGAIN. GO READ AT MY PORTFOLIO.. DO YOUR VERY BEST, PLEASE... SO, I'LL SMILE WHILE OPENING MY PORTFOLIO, FROM THE WAY IT LOOKS... AND THE WAY I CAN READ, THE COMMENTS AND MY REPLIES... DO YOUR BEST, SO THAT YOU'LL HAVE THE BEST CARING MEMBERS HERE.. DO YOUR VERY BEST, ANDY AND STUFF. GOOD LUCK! P.S: IN THIS SITE LIVE TOGETHER ARTIST IN ALL LEVELS WITH LOVE TO EACH OTHER... YET EACH SEE IT DIFFERENTLY... KEEP THE HIGH LEVEL OF DESIGN OF THIS SITE... SO THAT MORE PEOPLE WILL COME, AND NOT RUN AWAY.... DO YOUR VERY BEST !!

By the way, found another potential bug. I don't know if anyone else has had this problem but when reporting an image, I can't write into the box to explain the problem.

Thankies! :D

When I have read a message on the message board and want to go back to the overview of topics, the links on top of the page link to the ArtWanted.com forum (Cat=2) and not to the specific board I was reading in.

Hello there! I agree the fonts are FAR TOO SMALL, I have a degenerative eye desease which is why I turned to digital drawing and painting on my computer ( even my husband who has good eyesight agrees with me) . So if this goes unchecked you are shutting out all the visually impaired members / visitors .................Also I have had 2 Junk emails from members of aw touting unsolicited emails .....inviting me .............AND 50 other email addresses to view their work / blog / group, each of these emails contained over 50 private email addresses , including MINE ..................In this day and age on the internet , giving out private email addresses to all and sundry is NOT a very good idea ....................I am NOT happy with this AT ALL. Patty

Just dropping in to say this was done right..over at deviantart they tried to put up a spiffy new system but it is bad. This works well....no complaints.

I love the new groups section lots. However, I think the whole website is too large for the computer screen, and I have a very large computer screen. When commenting, paintings to the right are often missed, because you can't see them on the screen. Also there is too much mouse action moving right and left from the comment button on the right bottom to the top left to the back tab. And all that scrolling down is more arm and mouse action. Perhaps if the website were made to accommodate the computer screen, a lot of this excess mouse & arm action would be eliminated. Thank you.

AW, neither Mozilla for MAC or Safari look as though they are laid our correctly. I use OS10. Refer to my comments on page two of this post and you'll see that I already commented about how ugly this looks.

Thanks for fixing the manage favorites link.

AW STAFF: Thanks for the note, we will do some additional testing and re-coding to get this to appear like the other browsers.

Hello AW Staff and Andy... As I said yesterday, many people are afraid somehow to post their TRUE OPINION. Or not showing it at the boards, from ALL Kind of reasons.. ALSO TIME, I'm sure. This was sent to me : " Anonymous Guest : After reading your detailed reply to my comment on "the New AW", I took a closer look at the issues you brought up. I have to agree with you that it seems unnecessary to have some of the over sized buttons and drawings that just confuse a person, when simple words would be much more straight forward. I agree totally. Did not look at the 'insides' of the new AW only the surface. Now I see what you mean metukonet. "

Nira Dabush 16 Jul 2008

Patty, I'm sorry you're having eyes problems, you are not the only one on this site. But as you said, ALSO, People with no eyes problems, SEE that the fonts and spaces between comments and reply IS NOT DESIGNED WELL.

The last 2 days were lost, in tiring to explain to YOU, The importance of 2 basic things.. In fact there are much more, to improve... But these 2 basic things of backgrounds and fonts.. are the BASE OF THE BASE, If you still have difficulty to understand it... and it's a fact, that this thread does not show the REAL Picture of what all members really feel about it.. ITS A FACT..! See you somewhere, MAYBE In future, after you realize what you do, to some of the LIVING LOVING SOULS OF YOUR SITE, THAT MAKE YOUR SITE FEEL ALIVE, Such as MYSELF. It;s about time, you understand, if you does such HUGE, Change that influence HUGE Population of artists.. You must consult, with those POST IMAGES, DAILY, And comment daily... With these kind of fonts, I may comment now,, LIKE THIS : NICE WORK ! I'm not going to do any efforts... UNDERSTAND.. Until now, I did MANY EFFORTS HERE, In many ways that can so WELL Seen in my portfolio... actually, I SEE MYSELF AS ONE, MADE YOUR LOOK OF YOUR SITE.. REALIZE WHAT YOU'RE DOING , ANDY... SEE YOU SOMEDAY IN FUTURE... REALIZE THE CHANGE YOU MADE.. CORRECT WHAT MUST BE CORRECTED.. DO IT, PLEASE BEFORE SOME REALLY CARING ARTISTS HERE WILL RUN AWAY.. TRY NOT TO LOOSE QUALITY PEOPLE, YOU HAVE HERE... DO YOUR BEST - BECAUSE YOU CAN..IT WAS BEST. SEE YOU... WHEN YOU REALIZE, WHAT YOU DO.AND REMEMBER TO CONSULT THOSE WHO INFLUENCE LIVING LOVING WIND THIS SITE. PERHAPS I'M NOT ALL ARTISTS, BUT MY VOICE REPRESENT MANY. P.S: AGAIN IT'S MUCH MORE OF A CHOICE OF TASTE, IT'S IN PROFESSIONAL DESIGNER EYES.

AW I totally agree with Nira. There are some very big flaws in the design of this new site. People's eyes will suffer with the small print. I am lucky to have a big Computer screen so do not have that difficulty as much as some other artists. The huge flaw of the site being too large for the computer screen is also injurious to artists and others who navigate the new AW site. All that back and forth and up and down is very hard on the shoulder and arm and will eventually cause tendonitis. This I do know. It's important to correct this and other things I have written to you about. I do notice as I navigate thru AW commenting on artwork that the number of comments is way down. I've had some people ask me if I've noticed that. Yes, I have. If their arm hurts with all the back & forth & up & down movement required to comment that could be partly the reason. There are some very good things that you've brought in, but why couldn't have left the design of the site as it was before, July 15th? Nira is so right. Just because others are not writing in does not mean they are not having problems with this new AW site. Please, I hope that you heed our comments and Please do something.

Same thoughts...is a restless screen for me, too heavy contrasts and devided in too many parts with too strong contrasted colours. I realise we cannot vote....done has been done....we have to accept...anyway not so active here.. Have to say the website adress is on my personal cards, because I was happy with the site. Maybe need some time to be happy again.
