I dont live in America and cant say much to all of your feelings about health care there, but the thought, that someone had cancer or some other heavy duty ailment...without medical support is scarey as hell for me! I've heard, that people are half dead, go to a hospital there, to be fixed as quarter dead and are sent home again! Im sure glad I live where I live, cause my social med sure is nice! I had 2x in my life, where I was REAL sick and close to the gate, I was not ready for....each time I had SUPER care and was cured, without being asked for my "card" until the necessary had been done, and minimal costs for me in the end (such as approx. 15$ per day for a stay in the hospital). Heaven help you guys!

Thanks, Trixi, we will eventually get it right, we are just a little slow! and you are right about our "health care" I could tell you lots of stories about treatment being cancelled because of no money! We are a bit strong willed and self-centered, even to the point where we can't admit that National Health Care is less expencive! and we still have a bit of that puritanical background that causes us to believe that sick people are dealt this blow for a reason! We label things when we are afraid of them, call it "socialist" or "communist" when in fact it is really good sound business practice. We are a stuborn people but we will get to where the rest of the industrialized world has been for over 50 years! It is less expencive and the right thing to do!
