Martha your blizzard photo looks great right now...we're looking at temps near 110 again for a few days plus it's kind of humid. I have to get outside in the early morning to varnish large paintings for a show, before it gets too hot, and it's miserable. I am so ready for fall! For us, fall is really not even here until Oct or Nov some years.

Going up.....97-99

Martha Miller 18 Aug 2011

Hi R.Q Did you post that in hopes of cooling yourself? LOL It is a tad toasty here in NY. 81 degrees but no humidity to speak of. If it's cool you want here are a couple. relax.

Martha Miller 18 Aug 2011

And Another one.I took this one during a blizzard we had last winter,

Martha Miller 18 Aug 2011

and another one, this one is just for the enjoyment. these deer were approx, 100 feet from me.

RQ Trietsch 19 Aug 2011

My little sister gets mad as hell with her deer population in her yard. She lives in a suburb of Colorado Springs, and besides the doe's she gets some very large bucks.

Well we're on a slight cooling trend for the rest of the week...supposedly 90-93 for today.

Martha Miller 19 Aug 2011

The deer i posted i shot earlier this year.... the day before i had seen a robin was delighted that spring was finally here.....the following morning i awoke to 2 and 1/2 feet of new fallen snow... it snowed all that day. towards evening i looked out the back door and here was a herd of deer trying to cross the creek that had over taken it's banks. The 5 crossed in front of me trying to find a way to cross. The jump was going to be a very long one . Their concern i'm sure was for the young one in the herd. They finally all jumped across with the little one just getting his/her hind feet wet. All deer were safe. Temp here in NY is 81 degrees and muggy.

RQ Trietsch 20 Aug 2011

One more day of our cooling trend supposedly.. 87-90 for today.

You and my sister have deer, we do somewhere, but normally more snakes and coyotes than anything else.

Martha Miller 20 Aug 2011

Very nice here in the Northeast. It is 70 degrees with almost no humidity. Just a beautiful day...

RQ Trietsch 21 Aug 2011

88-90 for today.

Here's a picture of some of the intruders that jump my little sister's fence.

Martha Miller 21 Aug 2011

AWww and they are close to the house. They are probably looking for a cool place. Thank you R.Q For sharing. Another nice day Although it is party cloudy,But only 66 degrees.

Love the winter pictures. One of the things my husband and I do in summer is watch movies like Mystery Alaska or other winter movies. That and drink cold stuff, hug our ice bags, etc.

It is near 110 again here, with little or no relief in sight.

Martha Miller 21 Aug 2011

I know what you are saying, we were there for a spell this summer. It is now our typical weather going into fall.the high for today is 74 degrees. For all who are still in the heatwave I truly feel for you.I hope you all get some relief soon

RQ Trietsch 22 Aug 2011

We're suppose to be getting in the 100's by mid week here. Today's forecast 93-95

Cindy Schnackel 22 Aug 2011

Weather report on the news this morning said we will be having 110 and over all week. We've broken some records this year, but so far not the 122 degrees that I believe was the all time high in about 1990. I think 118 was our highest SO FAR this year.

RQ Trietsch 22 Aug 2011

Cindy your weather sounds like what I was use to at "The River" Colorado...100-120 was very common, not to mention hot. But when it got to hot, go float in the river and have some kind of a cold drink.

Martha Miller 22 Aug 2011

I do feel really bad for you. I hope you are both wearing good suntan cream. 67 degrees here in NY.

RQ Trietsch 23 Aug 2011

Going up again 99 on tap for today

marlene burns 23 Aug 2011

cindy, i was living in phx forthe 122 day..i even have a tee shirt to prove it!! it ws a horrible week...had been 119 all week so 122 wasn't a big jump or shock. i was in and out of the pool all day.the water was evaporating off my skin so fast, i was chilled!

Cindy Schnackel 23 Aug 2011

Wish there was some water to jump in...no pool at our house, no natural body of water close enough, and many public pools seem to have closed. Not that I'd endure the hot walk and bus rides to get to them anyway.

Suntan lotion or sunscreen? I just stay out of the sun, LOL! Excpet for short excursions to the store or mailbox or to take out trash. Even so, we are always tan here it seems.
