The Daily Best Piece of Artwork..or the Weekly Best artwork? You mean 'The TOP TEN'?

That doesnt 'syncronised' If you ve many hunters on that day... coming in here looking for Landscape Beauty...Landscape themes will get overwhelming Hits Nobody wants the Abstracts?..Nobody likes the Still Life subjects?..How can this be fair..when comes in Rating & giving daily or weekly True Merits to Artwoks..& Appreciation to the artists?

I also realised that Ladies logged in & visit this site more regularly then Guys...Ladies do have their way of choice...& liking....if you upload Flowers..birds...soft handy craft...the chance to be named 'TOP TEN' is highly profiled

What I suggest is ....giving True Merits to all Themes...categorised them each in as ( Eg ' Best Monthly Still Life'...'Best Monthly Digital Abstract'...' Best Monthly Wildlife'...Best Monthly Figurative....etc )

If there are not enough submission /uploads of certain Themes...allow the Subject Rating be done every 3 months

'TOP TEN' badge is not the Perfection Rating system...just only the Majority of a certain groupings' Affection for the choice arts only

ArtWanted may welcome some Professional Artists/Photographers/sculptors ( among Members) to judge the works..to be merited

The PRO doesnt come here to secure HITs....either they want to sell ..or to share their skills

Only a rare few are thirsting to receive High Hits A few 'Traumaenvymatic' syndromne artists are aiming for the HITs !!!! I guess

It s healthy to earn the Constructive Comments from others...

Do you join in to seek Improvements..to share your Talents...or you merely intruded just to see how much HITs you can attain?

Everyone carrying a different Heart into this Website

Patrick Fonte had brought out this 2 words ' The Professional'..or 'The Hobbyist'

When comes to RATING...& Assessing...who is rating your Artwork? The Hobbyists or the Professionals?

...or simply a young Freshie Art College girl is assessing your Artwork?

When comes to TRUE MERITED BADGEs Work....allow the Professionals to assess

Let the Doctor prescribe the Medicine...let the nurse take care the bandages...& you pay the Bill

I think our own ISPs should be excluded from hit statistics. That way we will see the true number of visitors.

Hi all! I have been here for little more than a year now, and the ONLY reason is to SHARE my art. I do not think that these websites are a launching plattform to SELL, but ART is SHARING and BRINGING/DELIVERING A MESSAGE to HUMANITY! History will make the job of ranking us within each other. Pure and sincere ART is only that: ART, and even though we love to sell, The most important artworks on history were bad sellers, because they were not meant to be decorative but to create some kind of reaction on the observer. Was Van Gohg's work appreciated or hot seller? Sales can be accomplished on other places, events and galleries. I am one of those who are "FREE MEMBERS" and don't think that being here as a free member lowers my quality as an ARTIST. My sincere congratulations to those who are Artists for the Art of Art, and sorry if I hurt the ones who come to the Art websites as a marketing tool, since it is totally clear to me during my over 40 years as an Artist, that selling Art is a very tough business unless you have a lot to invest on Media Tours, and other communication / promotion activities! Bless you all and MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!! Michael

I agree with some of the other artists that the Top Ten is of no value. It is 'High School' and egotistical. There is no place for this human trait except school and politics. If you want to achieve artistic merit try practicing your craft not your politics! I am on another site that is very high school with regard to popularity and cliche.

I see AW as a social network, it is not a site for sales, I have being a member for over a year, so far no sales.

Hello everyone,

I am brand new here at ArtWanted. That being said this is my 3rd art site I have joined in about a month. I was excited because of the success I had at my first site.

I am just wondering if anyone sells original art here. I do not mean dog tags or aprons. I mean your beloved piece of art that you worked very hard to create. The more I look at the opening page of artwanted the more it seems almost impossible to attract new buyers, unless you direct clients to your page. Usually people that come to these art sites are looking for what’s new. The new artwork on artwanted gets a little animation on the top right of the page. The new images are about 160px, which is hard to look at with a much larger 500x300px animated ad banner right next to it.

I could be wrong and just sharing my opinion, what do you think?

I just wanted to say to all that comment on my art that I wish I had the time to comment back on all of yours and I wanted to thank all of you for the comments I get;)twa5150.

I agree, on the top ten, if people are just going to say something to be nice instead of critiquing the work honestly. It helps the artists to know what people think about their work. I am new to photography and I would rather have pointers to help me gain knowlege about it and what to change or what I can improve on.

I think it would help to have someone who does the same work professionaly to comment.

Also, it would be nice it AW would help market the work/artists in other ways besides the AW website.

Ok. here goes.....I signed up to this site a few years ago as a free member. I had access to a scanner and a PC for time being and wanted to share my work. Artwanted.com re-inspired me. Although, I had to put my pen and pencil down yet again and make money. Art has always been my passion, but is very hard to just make money at.

So I had to step away for awhile, but fate always lures me back into creating artwork. As far as AW.com, I pretty much had forgotten I even opened an account. I was reminded of it when I found my portfolio in a search engine. So I regained access and discovered a great amount of traffic.

Now; seeing that, I kind of felt good inside. I didn't really have great artwork up, but it compelled me to keep at it. I never ever sold any of my work, and found it hard to let some go if it were possible. The hits we receive are meaningful and fill us with wonder.

I have been curious about the hits I get, wondering if they come from new visitors or repeat viewers. That kind of mystery keeps up my interest. The only suggestion I have for AW.com right now, is to some how keep our own views from generating hits on our own work. (Like mentioned earlier)

When I first put my artwork on your site I got comments. Now I get none. Am I looking in the wrong place?

bert cortes 11 Apr 2009

No, Belinda, you're in the right place. Perhaps your work is in the wrong place. It happens, it happened to me. Don't give up. Hope painting is a hobby to you, like it is to me.

Peggy Eddings 13 May 2009

I have not been to site in months and recently uploaded some photos and most of them recieved comments and last months hits were great (2022) and already this month i have 1222. That's awesome to me since I don't really promote this portfolio much.

avery schwartz 30 May 2009

Thanks AW for being an entirely functional website.

bert cortes 07 Jun 2009

Want to sell your work super fast? Offer 100% discount, like I do. One fast way to get rich...!!

I'm new to AW and I am glad to see the point thing is not emphasised. The other site I post with counts all these different ways members add points and awards stars under the member's avatar. Really silly I think! Way too facebook. I also noticed the point leaders there seem to be insincere with their comments and just adding points to their scores. I also found far more serious discussions about Art at AW, and thats why I joined. And the profiles are way less cluttered. Thanks AW.

Then again we can't be too serious.

I enjoy the new format. The idea of a top ten and even rating images on a scale is obsolete to me. Art is subjective and trying to rate or grade it has no real place in the artistic field. Just think if some of the Artist's we now consider geniuses were subjected to this system on top of the fact they were in many instances disliked for their work during their time,it would have been even harder to reclaim their work as brilliant at a later date if they had a portfolio that was considered to be made up of two's and three's on a ten scale. Receiving feedback is the most valued and interesting form of communicating with other artists and they with you. Ian.
