This is very sad ineed. I have a lot of art here and that is why I'm here - but the GD also allowed me to socialize with other artists as well.

I guess this means I have to go to bed tonight with no dinner and no TV and have to stay in my room all weekend.

Oh well, more time to spend on art and finish my homework.

Peace out people...

Monroe Jacks 27 Apr 2007

I am still here because I have faith that there is yet hope for a family friendly art site called ArtWanted.

While the same seditious and disrupting influences are still here despite their exposure on the General Discussion Board, I believe Andy and staff will keep these remaining boards free from what young children, and the community as a whole, has been subjected to on the GDB.

You have my gratitude, Andy.

florence apodaca 27 Apr 2007

I agree Monroe .

It saddens me. I always looked forward to seeing every ones Kittens, puppy dogs, and kids! Never missed Martha's funnies...or the flowers!

And someone had A bad headache..EVERY BODY jumped in to give him A remedy.

And in my darkest hour..They gave me courage to go on.

I hope it comes back...sometime in the future.

Susan Epps 27 Apr 2007

I agree with you, Joanne, that the supportive aspect of this community is very important and I think I saw somewhere that AW have been asked where that kind of subject matter could be posted.I hope they do that so that people who feel the need have somewhere to share and talk with their friends.

On a personal basis, I see this as a new beginning ....well, kind of, lol......and realise that I've been reading the Gen. Discussion board far too much. I'm gonna spend that time on a lot more art and on the stuff I have going on in the private life. It feels quite liberating in a way and I think all my friends....and others....are far more likely to hear from me via comments on their work......and that's something I haven't done properly for quite a while. I'm looking forward to it !

In the meantime, guys.....everyone take the best care of themselves, be well and happy, create great art but, most of all, have fun and no more fights. They just ain't worth it !

Cassie Norwood 27 Apr 2007

I abandoned the forums some time ago, got fed up with the fights and stuff.

Hopefully this will put things back on track.

I believe you made a good choice.

Wade Harrison 27 Apr 2007

i knew it was going to happen. thats why i stayed away to. it was just to depressing. i myself was not going to leave . but stay off the boards. you made a wise choice Art Wanted.

PEACE

Carson Collins 27 Apr 2007

I've never even looked at, let alone posted a reply to, anything but the Art Discussion forum here. If I want to discuss politics or religion - and, in general, I don't! - there are plenty of other forums for that.

Man I've really missed out on this..

Such as life changes will occur.

There is still the seldom used chat room that everyone wanted so badly. You could always go socialize there.

florence apodaca 27 Apr 2007

I think this is going to be a good place

Ann Lopez13 27 Apr 2007

I was almost out the door and ready to delete what little I had in my portfolio,I was angry and hurt that there were some that just couldn't stop reading into things, always stirring the pot, making a mountain out of a mole hill, all the bickering, all the justifying, how stressful. It never accomplished much, all of us took part in the ugliness, some will act innocent, and never agree they were part of the undoing, but does it reeally matter? Now this is refreshing to know that a new day has come, that as an artist, you have more time to be creative, and that's right, there is a chatroom, socialize all you want in there. Thank You Andy! I know I am pretty new to this site, but you did the right thing, and we applaud you!I want to grow, and cultivate my photography , with the new photography discussion board, it will be awesome to interact with other photographers. I know I was a handful, and a brat myself, and I appologize for being such a stinker! In the future i will conduct myself like a lady and not such a tomboy, well I'll try, I still like to wrastle once in a while! I'm going back to browsing through all the art! There is sooo much Art!!This is a site to be proud of, let's try and work together to keep it that way! Annie

Hi everyone, "what's NEW" ??? ;)

Damn shame I don't remember most of you for WHO you really are. The newer anon newcomers don't float my boat in any way. They NEVER talk about art or what it gives to folk.

They'll talk all day & night about how nice peace is, and how peaceful the peacefulness is, how loving and family cherishing the love brings, but not 1 single ounce of Integrity or Sincerity, not 1.

Dare to ask any simple questions, and you get nothing but a spilled entrail of words that mean nothing.

In this new found peace and tranquility where all is forgotten and slates wiped clean, perish the thought of those forced to leave long before the death of GD.

The real people left quite sometime ago, but most never even noticed.

Those strange folk who spoke to each other about each other without fear of being ripped apart OR worse, highly offended by outrageous statements and insideous threads that mocked the GENUINE folk of AW.

Closing GD was inevitable, but as ever AW have never seen fit to oust the plastic members, those who long ago deprived me and countless others the simple right to come in and say hello without sensible threads becoming complete nonsense.

As far as I'm concerned this site hung many folk out to dry, far too many, me included.

AW Roll call : ???????????????????????

NO .... I've changed my mind, I'll let it be, but let's see how long it takes for the 3 stooges to make a post re: any of the following

Tutorial on ANY topic re ART

Pictorial re how something is done

WIP submission in Crits

Submit a meaningful Crit on Crits to those who just want some feedback.

Say hello to a newcomer "without" the dire need to do so off someone elses back.

Maybe even email someone because it looks like they might need to be.

YES .......... many of you are GOOD people, but dear oh dear, why anyone wants to tolerate the meagre few is beyond me.

Perhaps its a secret, perhaps NOT. If it IS, it shouldn't be.

This place needs more Nats, Stephs, Blenx's, Martha's, and YES you hear me right " Denny Karchners.

Karen Godins, Vis's, Bo selectas, Kari's, Steve Hesters, WBM's, the list is almost endless. ALL good people ........ gone.

You all take care now, but I have a thought that plagues me, you know as in bites real deep, " how on earth did Mr Anon himself earn the right to swan around the place without ever doing anything for anyone ever ?

Moreover I thought respect was always earned, not simply given.

Said it a few times, so 1 more won't hurt, " Band together as a single force and IF a newcomer is an obvious CHEAT stick together and voice as 1 to have it removed."

Don't take NO for an answer. BE here together and stick together as 1, not split hairs over it ;)

Gotta say this before I go, "Missing Steph Salt is a real bummer, and I mean BIG downer". Many of you never even noticed she was gone ................ except crits of course, that quietly stagnates in her absence.

I remember you Steph, how could I NOT (mermaid @ the lighthouse) Laz

PS: AW staff, before you delete this post by me, think of it this way, "Perhaps it is YOU who needs to step in more often at the right times".

Doing this would mean others wouldn't have to.

If you are not prepared to defend obviously honest members integrity, and forbid they do it themselves, small wonder wars break out. Laz.

BRAVO, AW...BRAVO! You GOT IT!! Good for you.

Anita Montalvo 28 Apr 2007

I always knew this site should be about art, now the business of art will be the main topic. It's about time. Discussions of every form of art will be valuable information for everyone, VERY EXCITED!!! A.Montalvo

Thom Roslan 28 Apr 2007

I agree LaZ.........It was inevitable!

Susan Epps 28 Apr 2007

Hi Laz :)

I agree with a lot of what you say, especially about former times and former members now long gone. But it's the way of the world, my friend. Times move on and so do people. The newer members can't know how things once were and now they can't even read old threads to get the " feel " of Sher and her time. It's a kind of " you had to be there to get it " thing.

Lord knows we tried to rid ourselves of the trouble-makers.....we tried very hard.....their malign intent was obvious to all but the end result is no board and they are still here, and crowing loudly. Did they win ? Maybe a kind of Pyrrhic victory...but it won't be long before stuff erupts again in another forum and that one gets closed down too.

I meant sincerely what I said about getting more involved with the art on here. You know why ? Because that is good for my soul and my soul is very precious to me because I have to live with it 24/7. It isn't good for my soul to fight a battle I can't win. If someone breaks into my home, I can call the police and....if I'm lucky lol.....the cops come and take them away and they get punished for what they did.....an age-old way of dealing with right and wrong. Here, the intruders are in my house and the 999 number is constantly busy.....and right and wrong seems a dying concept....except in the ART. That's why I'm moving on. Banging your head against a brick wall HURTS and stopping is a great relief.

I hope you understand what I'm trying to say here and stay in touch. You know the address.

Stay cool, Laz

Belle

Natalie Mason 28 Apr 2007

Morning all!

I agree with what Laz and Susan say, all of it.

I'll still be around, in Art Discussion and Critique, but that's it. I won't post here again, as I've said my piece here.

I'll also carry on welcoming new members, commenting on work I LIKE, and emailing the wonderful friends I've met on here...hopefully one day, I'll get to meet some more of you guys!

I'll see Stef and Jen in October Laz, both of who are fantastic ladies aren't they?

Take care all, hopefully our paths will cross again somewhere on our travels through AW!

Love, Natalie xxxxx
