WESTERN ARTWORK By Denny Karchner 06 Feb 2005

What does having more than one account have to do with the "price of tea in China" or this thread?

BTW, I have two "Premium" accounts and AW gladly takes my two payments, no questions asked. I have another "free account" which they know about, I am sure. That one was done just to prove a point that yes, you can sign up under an alias. So take me out and shoot my ass, better yet take my birthday!--Denny

Hmmm....so when can we start this tip of the hat game AW....Im ready to play.

What do ya say? Ya can't succeed without first experiencing failure and it would seem this has already been accomplished with the current system.

No place left to go but to the top of the hill right? Implimenting a new system only requires your action and for the benefit of all the members I would think you would be more than willing to give it a shot....

Supercalafragilistics

So now that we have gone around playing the cat and mouse game how about we really get down and help sort this one out once and for all

A.W says they will be putting a new system in place by your spring meaning the U.S.A so do you want to be apart of this or not its your site

Sher as much as i like your spirit and devotion to the 40 words most will do it just to make a point if they are intent on destroying some ones works I would if there was some one who really gets to me or does it to some else brutal but honest

Denny your one hell of a guy and honest about it as well but you are very respected and do fine work so that idea has gone out the window you have proven that point about the alias accounts

Andree you have hit the nail on the head with forty words as I have mentioned about copy and paste

Leigh and Mark have come up to the plate and agreed with the way the system could work no favours given to any artist and no one can see what each other gives to a fellow artist

Plus I feel the free accounts should stay there is some very good artists coming on board not only that they to have words to say and have feelings just like us not only that how did we join artwanted

did we not have a freebie to start with and did we not all rate others work being new also ment that we did some low rating to start with till we where bashed over the fingers or the head for doing it to the top artists who rain supreme over the top ten me included in that I even gave out 7 8 9 oh and even a 6 or two before I knew the game boy that was a hard lesson I still cant sit on my butt

Plus to everyone else that has put in some positive feed back are we just going to let this die in the water because we cant agree on any thing

Ok Bob has my vote on the tipping of the hat

If that fails to come up I like Shers forty words for a (1-5) but and I mean this one you only get to do this once you are locked out of the ratings and postings till it has been dealt with by the moderator no three strikes then put out you get one bite of the apple then you die a slow painful death out in cyber space Certain words could also be written in to the software to catch any fowl words and again you get locked out this is so simple hard to put in place but could be worked on

Well any time some one wants to jump in and take over be my guest

It is clear that you are all here on our site for different reasons and you each have your own idea of the 'perfect' ratings system.

Changing the ratings/comment system will require a huge rewrite of code to our website and it is not a quick change that we can do overnight. Because of this, we have to make sure that whatever changes we do, the majority of members want on our site. Due to the recent suggestions, we are building a new rating survey that we can give to all of our members within the next few weeks. This will ask for everyone's opinion on the current system and ask questions about a new system, based on the comments above and in other 'ratings' threads on our message boards.

We will collect the data for a month or two and then decide which changes will be made to the system, based on what the majority of members wish to do. We feel this is the only way to make it fair and hear the voice of the people on our site.

Once the new rating system is online, as always, you will be able to have options in your members area that will effect your individual rating preferences. It's clear to us that ArtWanted.com will continue with a rating system for a long time. 95% of our members want one, according to their preferences. We have also seen a huge increase of traffic to our site and each members individual portfolios since we implemented our first rating system. We appreciate your feedback and your comments/suggestions to make our rating system and website better. We always want to improve our site and your suggestions are always taken very seriously. Thanks.

Thankyou AW Oz.. : )

Each time we all speak out, we risk sounding and taking on that air of 'nagging'and whining or ranting -which we all know isn't attractive to our personas. It also causes strife among some of the vocal members, when in fact 'we all' wish for a 'calm sea'. Its a 'good thing' for us to voice our concerns and opinions...

Thanks for 'seeing' and 'hearing' us all, and i will look forward to the survey...

Thanks to Andy and staff.

Just so long as the wheels are in motion in the direction of fairness to everyone, I am pleased. I think we all will be. It is the eternities that some have sufferd, while seeming like no one gives a darn.

In the interum, I think better communication wouldn't be asking too much. When someone submits a problem as we are asked to, a lot of damage can happen, if they are left hanging there too long.
