It ask more than just a place to upload your pieces to make people buy them, -- if it was just that easy everyone would become fame. Now how many of you has realy uploaded your images in a size that allow for more than a stamp size print ? Who can agrea that listening to your clients wishes make your images sell. ----- I think of it like this that you get what you pay, and paying is paying attention to the small issues, like has you tried putting yourself in a buyers place ; why shuld he buy exactly your pieces. For me ArtWanted is only a mirror that tell me what I am missing, a testbench that only partwise show what to do, and I do not expect to win the big award by only paying for some Mb. storeage.

I dont think buying or selling art from a internet site is good business unless you know the artist and seen thier prior work. Just to easy to play with the image to make it look better then it does. I think someone suggested showing at galleries and such. This is the best place to start, getting a fan base then going Kinkade from there. If your focused on sells, your work will not grow. If your focused on work ,your sells will not grow.

I think finding a supporter or promoter would be the best business move you'll ever make. Some one to direct your work to the proper potch of Fans.

Art linked to culture is a small circled network anyway. Most serious artist work hard going places and "networking," not just posting on a few web sites and waiting.

I personally feel that if you are a creative mind focused on the arts, you should focus on the arts. However if your a business minded creative person and selling art is your avenue more power to you. I just would'nt buy from the latters. to be honest I can always find it cheaper at Wal-Mart.

You are quite right, there are many true artists who don't maneage the promoting side of it, and the only right thing to do, is to focus on your art realise that it is not the succes that measure the quality. Also be a bit humble about arts in general -- but not to humble as when you see works where you wonder how this can be sold at all, then remember that arts galleries is to blame that so many see art as an investment, rather as something you love and agrea so much, that you will hang it on your walls. Now please check how different this painting display on a wall compared how I display it in my "Galleri Masonit" folder, --- this is how to think when you want to sell.

Never Give Up! Steve, IDEA: try www.lulu.com and self publish your work in a children's book. Write it yourself or partner with someone. I like your work and so will others. I didn't join AW to sell art work. As others have commented, I did it to have a site I could send folks to see my work. Plus, I show people my work on-line (on AW) in their offices when they ask about my work. I show them or give them the AW web page info. AW has rec'd a few members when I do that. Thanks for this thread. I got some good site names. I looked at redbubble and I might try it. Have you seen www.threadless.com? It seems similar in some ways, at least the t-shirt part. Anyway good luck, happy year of the OX and thanks.
