- Thanks Jennifer. I haven't gotten a quote as of yet from a foundry, but from talking on a forum dedicated to sculpting I'm expexting a figure of a couple thousand perhaps.

I did however, a few nights ago talk to a proffesional sculptor friend of mine that thought that my mermaid sculpture may run around $500.00 to cast. I'd be estatic if it only costs me that much.

The bear however has at least twice as much bulk so I'm certain that it would be more expensive.

This is a great explanation of the process. Glad you did it. One thing that would make your process easier would be to go to a softer clay which is available at Dick Blick. Love your bear. Keep on working. Kit
