I see nothing wrong with free account holders being able to upload five per month and having their previous images remain so they can build their portfolio. Not all free account holders are out to cause mischief and some of us are simply waiting to see how things develope before we make any final decisions. That's a choice we make and we have every right to those choices and although opinions will vary I do not see anyones opinion strongly overpowering to another here. As was said we cannot all be happy but the closest thing to an acceptable solution to solve the problems like I had last night will only come from everyones opinion who truely cares about what is going on. I may disagree with you Andree but Im still on your team and that's what we need here. As suggested by Sher the site needs to start excerising different options to see what is going to work and what is not. Success doesn't come without first experiencing failure. It's time to make a stand and stop the foolishness that goes on here and as soon as I see this happening I will gladly pay and support this site for the accomadations this site offers to artist. My limitations of involvement at this time are a personal choice always subject to change.

I agree Andree, a year is more than enough time to decide and I appreciate you getting envolved with this discussion. I know you feel strongly about this so your Ideas are just as worthy of consideration as anyones. I have been here only going on 4 months now and I have yet to see any action being taken. Talking solves nothing more than an agreement to disagree. It is the action that will bring our common goals for this site to the surface.

I agree 100%. I have been here for a while now, as a free member, and I like the site enough that I am very close to upgrading my account. Having free accounts for a year will give the site a chance to "weed out" the people who are not serious about their work, or not willing to contribute to making the site better (by backing it financially).

I also agree with a previous comment - $5/month isn't going to break anyones bank, and having ALL members make the decision to pay or leave after one year will increas AW's budget, leading to a better site for all of us serious artists, of all disciplines and abilities.

Free memberships are great, it's true, but if people like the site enough, and feel it's helping them in their art, then they should be willing to pay the $5/month. I was actually quite shocked to read that only 5% of AW membership was from paying members. That's incredibly low, especially when their premier membership is so affordable.

Now it seems like this thread has drifted a bit from it's original discussion... LOL Went from ratings to memberships... :) Oh well, good discussion either way. Let's put our faith in AW to make the right decisions to benefit all of us. :)
