And ... and.... Terry, if I remember where you live, There's a hurricane comin'! I have heard Lyme disease puts a (((target))) on your back or where you were bit. You got a little time to pack up and get out of there. Take your pets and run for the hills or to Oregon. Luckily we don't get Hurricanes but we have that volcano...... St Helens, just a little way up the road. It's been quiet for a year.

AW, Thanks for the update to your HTML Web page design.

Armando, the horses are going to be great. If the manes are cut, what will those riders hang onto?

Ladies; take a deep breath. Summer vacation is over.

Hi, my friends. Thank you for your concern. Special thanks to my special and supportive fairy, Sharon Gonzalez. Love you, girl.

Terry, hope you're getting well. Positive thinking, my friend.

Today I visited my doctor in the early morning since sulfonamide and antibiotics didn't work at all. I feel worse or, at least, I didn't improve. I must do checks but not before 10-12 days because I still have antibiotics in my blood and this could alter the analysis. More control checks will follow in the next two-three months if thereisn't a diagnostic before. I also got a terrible cold and am weak and coughing.

Patience.

Meanwhile I'll try to distract myself through art. Right now I'm working in my last piece: "Rapa das bestas". This is what is going on.

Armando Salas 05 Sep 2008

My two assistants (there are three more) helped me a lot.

Olga van Dijk 05 Sep 2008

Dear Armando, your "Rapa das bestas" is the best. Can't wait to see it finished.

I'm really worried about your health... Take good care of yourself. Rest, drink a lot of water. take your vitamins and rest again.... I feel for you. You're in my thoughts.

My dear friends and readers of this wonderful thread Tomorrow I'll leave for Holland to visit my terminal ill Mother in law. It will be a tough and emotional visit....

I won't return until the 19th.

Wishing you all a wonderful time, stay healthy, take care of each other...

Love and Light, OLGA

Hi Min, I guess summer down there is close to a year round thing. and now's storm season. I see there are some big ones brewing.

Olga, have a safe trip. It will be a memory maker.

Armando, I hope you are training the assistants well. I see their eyes are open now but it will be a few more weeks till they can make heads or tails of a color wheel. This would be a good time to tell them not to drink the paint water, that goes your you too. Take it easy.

Carrie

Armando Salas 06 Sep 2008

My best wishes for you and yours in these difficult times, Olga.

I was working on my RAPA DAS BESTAS (almost finished) but I'm very weak and tired. I must rest a bit. I'm sure I've fever also because of a cold.

Happy weekend to all of you. The ones in hurricane areas, please take care.

Terry Bassett 06 Sep 2008

Pam.. Olga.. Anneke.. Minerva.. Carrie.. Armando..

Thanks for all the good wishes and Sorry for such a delayed reply, but I've been right out of the loop

Lyme disease is what the Doc thinks it could be and he's treated it accordingly with a course of Doxycycline. I took the last tablet this morning and feel very little different. The pain seems a bit better, but maybe I'm getting used to it... I guess time will tell, but hopefully it's been caught early enough for a good cure with no remissions.

Apparently it has to be diagnosed on symptoms initially, as the blood test is very unreliable and depends on what antibodies are in your blood. It seems you can have those antibodies even if you don't have it and if you do it can take a few weeks for them to appear..

It's practically crippled me with swollen joints, excruciatingly painful stiff neck and acute arthritis like pains in just about every joint. Even on the maximum dose of Naproxen the pain has been extreme and I've hardly been able to get off the bed... lol.. rolling a cigarette has been agonising, but I've managed a few.. hell of a way to cut back..:-(

The hurricane went through here this morning Carrie. dumped about five inches of rain and blew a few branches off my Pecans, but all's OK.. fortunately we live quite a way from the coast.

Have a safe trip Olga.. I guess it's going to be pretty emotional for you and you're in my thoughts.

Sorry you're not improving yet Armando.. I'm exausted too, so I guess we'll have to improve together.. Love that new work..

Sunday morning, so I guess its approprate that I say a prayer for Terry and Armando. Get well soon my friends!

Armando Salas 07 Sep 2008

Hi, my friends.

Thank you, Roy, for your concern. Luckily I already haven't fever because of cold but about my main disease, I must wait few days to start checks because of presence of antibiotics in my blood. Meanwhile... patience! Hope Terry is getting well.

Looks like Dr. Freud and the ladies are the healthy ones here :-)

Just finished/uploaded my RAPA DAS BESTAS and still looking for those artists involved in PEIXEIRAS project. I think they'll not finish :-(((

Armando Salas 07 Sep 2008

About my assistants, they are mature enough and I definitely can affirm...

THIS ONE IS ROY...

Armando Salas 07 Sep 2008

THIS ONE IS MINERVA (Look at those incredible eyelashes!)

Izabella Pavlushko 09 Sep 2008

Hello Armando,

Please look into my portfolio. A surprise is waiting for you. Hope it will lift your mood.

At last I have finished your portrait in acrylic. One of these days I’m going to give you image of large dimension so that you could do clear print if you want.

After two days in bed, looks like I'm better (only a bit) and found the brilliant portrait made by amazing artist Izabella Pavlushko.

Thank you, dear Izabella: your art is the best medicine :-)

-------------

Just to tell to all of you, my friends, about my health troubles. My problem started by lithiasis symptoms. Very disturbing and painful. My doctor prescribed sulfonamides, first, and then antibiotics. I didn't improve.

Then, I noticed something: during this summer I changed my diet. I took a lot of chocolate, gazpacho (tomato soup) and few things more containing oxalates. Oxalates are a toxic that increase uric acid in blood and urine.

Since I cannot start clinical checks while antibiotics are in my blood, I decided to start a treatment by my own: I take minimal dosages of sodium bicarbonate all day long in order to alkalify my urine... and looks like it works!

But two days ago I knew the hardest night in my whole entire life. I got a sinusitis also. The pain on my face was terrible and I had to phone to my doctor... antibiotics again!!!! :-(((( This means, the clinic checks will be delayed :-(

Although very tired and weak, having head ache and coughing all day long, I think I'm better a bit.

Just taking a coffee but not enjoying it because ALL have the same taste: medicines :-)

Thank you for your concern. Hope Terry is improving as well.

Love you.

Armando Salas 10 Sep 2008

Since I haven't powers but must draw my two daily strips, my wife took my five assistants at home. Looks like Minerva doesn't want to help and only thinks of run away :-)
