@ Red Square ~ Pardon. I’m sorry I’m coming off rude. But I find bullying, in all forms, inappropriate and distasteful especially when coming from an adult like Sal. If you find the way I’m approaching this inappropriate thats your opinion. He’s standing up for his art and his rights, I’m standing up for a fellow artist thats not here to defend himself. I have every right to do that. I’m sorry you don’t like it and this is not what you’re paying for. However I didn’t ask you to read my argument, you chose to read it on your own and there is a lot of argument, so if you read it all whos fault is it that you got yourself involved. I’m defending Norm, he’s a great guy, if you talk to him I’m sure you’ll find out for yourself. And I’m sorry you feel this way.

@ Sal ~ Hun you have no idea what experiences I have as a teenager compared to you as an adult. Firstly I had never heard of Norm Magnusson till you started spouting nonsense on here. It was only after you claimed he stole your idea did I look him up and become inspired by his work, did I then go and email him asking for his thoughts on my work. Not only did he respond but he also gave me great feedback. doesn’t sound like a “prankster” to me.

I came into this Honestly looking out for Sal’s back, I’ve been plagiarized before on Deviant Art, and no one did anything. The moderators just told me “this stuff happens” So I wanted to stand up for Sal. But I never do anything without research first. So I found Norm and Sal. You all know what I found on Norm. I tried to show everyone what I found on Sal but no one seems to see it I guess. I was offended by it. He’s being so two faced. Here are some of his quotes from his pages.

“Yes girls, I'm Dashingly Handsome, Single, A Love God on my Home Planet of Zimdar and I'll be signing autographs later, so please stand back while I get naked and ready for this...[Rimshot & Cymbal Crash!] ...Started doing these goofy doodles when I was in High School about a hundred and eighty seven years ago. Did lots of other stuff too! Music (was almost a Rock Star...film at 11!), Photography (was an assistant for Ralph Gibson, got to meet the Art Elite in NYC), was poor, found Capitalism, got rich, then poor, then rich again, got married, had a son, got divorced, got poor again and now...who cares? So I started painting and sculpting again for FUN> Some years ago (c2001) someone asked me what I call this stuff...For lack of a better excuse [and at the insistence of some individuals who just love labels], I called it 'Funism'. Now, some years later I'm known as the 'Founder of the Funism Art Movement'. Go Figure? And that's not all!...Now all the 'trendy's' anti up big bucks for my stuff because they find it hillarious and simply must have a 'Marino' 'Funist' work in their collection...So you see, you too can be rich and famous...all you have to do is make something brilliant (Oh Brother, is this guy serious?) that people want and sell it for lots of Green...Or, you can simply do what everyone else does and tell me what to go do to myself...[Cymbal Crash!] But if you really want to know more about my life of debauchery, read my book, 'Guy Talk, Girl Talk', an amusingly”

And he basically told people who paint flower (half the people on this site) to go to hell, on his other site. Sorry if I take that a little offensively. Please read all my other quotes from Sal if you haven’t already and if you don’t find those a little offensive but find me offensive you need a brain check.

And I knew you would end this with your tail between your legs because a teenager mopped the floor with you. A teenager who knows your reading this because you can’t resist attention good or bad cause she’s got you all figured out. Your boat has sunk, down to the bottom of the failed pond. Toodles.

@ Those of you who know and support me. ~ Sorry this was such a rough ride, I know I’m normally not so mean, but I hate bullies, plain and simple, on and off the play ground.

P.S. I have never met Norm, I am not related to him AT ALL! I would be honored to be related to him, that would be the coolest thing EVER! If you want to do a background check on me thats FINE! My name is Alexandra Sloan and I live in New Hampshire, Here is a photo of me on the bottom if you want to compare likenesses. I had never heard of Norm till Sal brought him up. Never heard of Funism either so I think it would be smart of Sal to shut the *cough hack wheeeeeeeeeze* up.

Alexandra, you might be a teenager, but your posts are extremely well thought out and well spoken, and you have restored my faith in teens in general. :)

and Mr Marino, you really need to get over yourself. I mean seriously? Really? The funny thing that Norm never mentions this guy that I can even find in his posts. Must be pretty galling. All I see is one guy working on his craft, and another laying in the isles at Artwanted throwing a temper tantrum...

Alexandra Sloan 09 Apr 2011

Thank you very much, I did a lot of research to back my claims and I never make a statement unless I can show proof. I'm happy I was able to restore your faith in us teens. *^_^*

Funism isn't that unique, fun+ism...

Often, people get similar ideas, not knowing about each other.

As original as boringism.

Diego Sandoval 11 Apr 2011

I should've copyrighted "boringism" as well... damn it!

Alexandra Sloan 11 Apr 2011

I think Sal copyrighted that one when he started typing, Diego. Sorry. T_T

I honestly think this is what happened. Sal came up with a new idea, didn't do any research to see if anyone else had come up with it already, paraded it around for a while then realized someone else had beat him to it. So he then went around and tried to sabotage a famous artist by spreading childish tales of plagiarism, when he should have just changed his movements name to something else, like annoying-ism, or mediocrity-ism. Because from what I can tell the rules of his movement aren't about having fun its about making mediocre art thats annoying. So anywho, I will give him credit for his determination, I just think he went about it the wrong way.

marlene burns 11 Apr 2011

the thing is, sal claimed to have copyrighted the name, yet he won't say how he has gone about that.....so i think it's safe to say he's ruing that he didn't copyright the name....

Alexandra Sloan 11 Apr 2011

@ Marlene ~ I agree. He's avoiding the subject very well, but we're not letting him get away with it!

I'm making a new thread for Funism, only the REAL funism. The one Norm Magnusson started. So everyone should check it out! I'm going to try to turn Sal's negativity around and bring some positive energy and thoughts back to Norm's hard work. Cause he brought some inspiration into my life and art, maybe he can bring some into yours!

Alexandra Sloan 11 Apr 2011

Here's the link to my new thread for Norm!

PS. I hope you like my devil cow! He's a funism piece.
